This was definitely the best Lydia episode. I really liked her in it.

The only thing that i hated was seeing that fat gay guy from Mean Girls. I dont like him.

Pretty predictable episode, but really hilarious. The look on the pre-med student after Ron handed him the vial was great.

She's progressively gotten better, definitely agree with that.

Question - is Adam Scott definitely not going to be there for Season 3 due to Parks and Recreation conflict?

Actually, better question - is there a Season 3?

(As an aside - if there were a way we could ensure that an actor stay with the role/series that was best for the universe - I think Adam Scott would stay on Party Down vs. Parks and Recreation, where his character is pretty replaceable by some other competent sardonic-type actor and the show doesn't lose much, at least based on what we've seen to-date.)

Per Sepinwall- Scott is available for a few eps, but the last thing I read was that he was gone.

Alan also seems doubtful that there will be a 3rd season.

Thanks, Dids - just found his blog post, very informative:

Though this is completely incorrect:

I want to be optimistic, but the way Albrecht has dragged his feet on this - knowing full well that something like this might happen - doesn't fill me with hope. It's an unfortunate fact of Hollywood life that when a new administration takes over a channel or studio, they become invested in pushing their own projects, rather than supporting the stuff that existed before they got there. If "Party Down" were to turn into the cable-sized hit it deserves to be, Albrecht wouldn't get much credit, because it pre-dated his arrival.
There may be alot of reasons why Party Down gets canceled (budget/strategic direction etc.), but the above makes absolutely no sense (I think it is obvious why).

Got through all the Netflix episodes, hope it sticks around. Ron's my top character, love his sad, breathy, trailing-off inflection when he has a revelation about whatever mess he's in. Like his "Kyle..." when he realizes it was Kyle and not Henry who told the pre-med at the draft party about his condition. He's always upset that someone's messing with him, but at the same time seeing how in some way it's his own fault.

Anyone else notice the theater party ep was a nod to the play/movie Noises Off? Specifically, the frumpy stagehand running around holding some new prop each time.

Solid interview thanks for sharing, Rendle.

I'm not sure if this is standard for Party Down Instant Queue episodes, but I have episode 10 titled Constance Carmell Wedding sitting in my queue but with a generic episode description and it won't play!! BS!

It will do this a lot with episodes that haven't aired yet. Same thing happened with the last few episodes of Sparticus

Didn't realize that S2E10 that has been On Demand for like 3 weeks was the finale and I have no more new ones to watch, sucks.

That was a triumphant finale. I'll be disappointed if the show ends here, it has done nothing but pick up steam all season.

Edit: Although if it does end up being the series finale it's a great ep to go out on.

Amazing finale, really really great.

Season 2 as a whole was awesome, better than season 1.

"Triumphant" is a great word for it. It was both hilarious and gives great season endings to all the characters we've come to care about. I hope there's another season, but this would be a great sendoff if there isn't.

When I figured out what was going on in Kyle's song, I was howling.
Spoiler:
It took me until "but they just want money" and the first glance of the older Jewish guys looking at each other... but I should have known something was up as soon as the song was called "My Struggle".

Hah, I had almost the exact same line of thinking before I realized what was going on. I would guess a majority of people didn't get it til that point, either.

I love that the song is a bit that can only fully work in the DVR/Streaming On-Demand age (at least for me), as I had the ability to rewind and see how awesomely subtle the lyrics were at the beginning (lol blond hair blue eyes).
