I'm pretty sure I would have noticed if it was Corbett the first time. I think it was just a random dude originally.

I wonder if Kelly is going off the show for good?

Only problem with new characters, is that the normal cast doesn't get any parts.

Both of these x1000. I was a little bit pissed at the director and lighting designer during that last scene, though.

Enjoyed all of the story lines from the last episode. Corbett walking out on them again and the alternate reactions of abandoned children was confusing at first. Then my wife explained to me how spot on it was (she deals with a ton of kids who go through this).

Crosby/Jasmine stuff going back and forth was just great. Last week I was rooting for him, this week sympathized with her. Minka Kelly not exactly showing off the acting chops though.

The kid wanting to be a vegetarian and Julia & Joel handling it like the yuppie parents they are.

The Zeke Camille sex scene was really awkward and made me feel like it was my parents having sex.

Minka Kelly was showing off what she needed to.

In general this has turned into one of my favorite shows. The acting from most is really good, it feels genuine and deeper than your normal silly family drama. It's not like FNL or anything but the writing this season has been very good.

Still don't like Lauren Graham though

Yeah, I was kinda creeped out by it.

One of my favorite parts of the episode was the Zeke/Sidney showdown.

And I know Crosby's got Jabar to think about it, but if I were on a quasi-hiatus from an engagement with Jasmine I'd kick her to the curb if Minka Kelly showed interest in me. (Does that make me racist?)

I'm pretty sure that would be a tough choice for any man. Especially, after she refused to talk to him when he wanted to work things out and started using their son as a weapon. It makes it more believable. Why would you risk your beautiful fiance and son? Well Minka Kelly...

One of the more uncomfortable moments I think I've seen on TV in a long time. I kept refusing to fast forward through it thinking it would be over any second, yet 2 minutes later it was still going and I saw every second of it. Then again, I laugh everytime Zeke appears on screen in this show because I can't stop myself from picturing the Family Guy episode where Peter accidentally sends a letter saying he wants to kill Craig T. Nelson, who then shows up at his front door with a gun and says, "Make it quick."

Also, idk if my ears are going on me, but did I correctly hear Jasmine call Crosby an "ass_hole" on network TV? Is this as big a deal as I think it is?

Another great episode. At the start of this season I thought let them cancel this. Now it is one show that doesnt sit on my PVR long. Unlike CSI Miami that has 11 Episodes

No, he was clearly an @$$hole.

I mean granted I don't watch CSI, Law & Order, etc. but I don't think I've ever heard that word used on a network TV show before. I know the FCC has let the shows get away with more and more in recent years (like getting away with referring to sex as "banging" seems to be the new one), but I still don't think I've ever heard a legit swear word used. I mean where do they draw the line? The way they're going we'll soon be seeing the actual murder on CSI or full penetration on The Bachelor.

I don't watch those drama shows either but iirc cursing was routinely part of the script on NYPD Blue, which first aired like 17yrs ago? I don't think it's that unusual after 10pm.

In other news, damn, Monica Potter is really growing on me. Seems like a super cool chick too from the talkshow clips on youtube. She should be more famous imo (but maybe I wouldn't like her as much then).

Am I a bad person if I hope Amber's in a permanent coma after that? Her "oh noes I didn't get into Berkeley so I'm going off the rails" bender is so painful to watch - not because she's an amazing actress that personifies her mom's worst fears, but rather because it's awful.

Only 1 episode left and the show hasn't been renewed yet. The ratings suck but it's still a favorite to be renewed given the current state of affairs at NBC.

getting renewed can go either way. Ratings aren't really going to get better with DVR and streaming from NBC.com.

The intro last night was the best its ever been... even with no Minka Kelly

Remember the "Amber doesn't get into college" episode? Did anyone catch what her backup school was? I can understand that she doesn't get into Berkeley, but no matter how crappy her grades are she'd get into tons of schools with her near-perfect SAT scores. That makes this whole downward spiral implausible.

Also, the trailer for next week looked ridiculous: emergency room and a Hattie pregnancy? Desperate plea for renewal, perhaps?

I don't think they specified what the backup school was. But jfc, I got into UC Riverside and I didn't even apply there (I applied to some other UCs, didn't get into most of them, but Riverside sent me a letter like "come here! please! we'll take you!!")

Season finale was ok. Didn't really love Julia running into a friend that's about to have a baby when she coincidentally can't conceive but whatever.

Wondering if this show is going to be renewed. Gotta be on the fence?
