Started with my wife watching it, plus I have a Lauren Graham thing and a Erika Christensen thing.

Then it turned out to be not that bad of a show.

Meh, I've never watched American Idol or Dancing with Stars; so there. Plus the female cast is a solid B+.

Yeah, pretty annoying for the writers so obviously have to scramble to pull up a storyline for Adam out of their ass for this season and come up with something that makes no sense in the context of last season.

I love the movie as well as the first season. Wasn't to thrilled with the season 2 opener. I hope the networks are not going to kill the show with all of there notes. Looks like Dax's character will hook up with the teacher of Max's and the mother looks like she is going to be a minor character if not written out which I hope not.

I hope we get more time with Jabar which looks like it will happen as he will move in with his father from the previews. I wish they would send the character Drew back to live with his father or pull a Rudy from Family Matters.

Baldwin was added as a love interest for Graham's character after Jason Ritter's show The Event got picked up. Had it not Jason was set to come back for season 2 according to a Graham interview she gave about the show.

I think Baldwin's character was also created as Peter's boss because Krause is currently in a relationship with Graham and the two probably wanted to do more scenes with each other so the writers did it that way.

2 eps in, this show ain't grabbin me.

any conflict they have they seem to resolve too quickly. it's not that there won't eventually be said conflict, but i ask mysefl why adam and sarah can't have legit conflict for more than 5 minutes. or crosby and jasmine for that matter. i just feel like the writers have to give us something early that makes me want to tune in next week.

right now, i'm pretty sure the biggest drama is: will sydney become uncool with the other 5 year olds!!!

i'll keep watching for a bit longer but maybe i was just a fan of this because it came in the spring so my enjoyment was relative

I have not found the first two episodes to be as entertaining as the first season either keepitreal.

Lauren Graham's character is starting to grate on my nerves a little bit. She just isn't going anywhere, which wasn't so bad when she had a good conflict with her daughter, but is incredibly annoying when the focus of her storylines is squarely on her own personal growth, job hunt, etc.

Apart from that it may be a fall off from the 1st season but I'm still liking it.

IMO it's just more of a general show about marriage/kids/family much like the Wonder Years (which was 1 of my favorites) was just about growing up. I kinda like that there isn't all of these unbelievable 90210 style cliffhanger drama bombs 58 minutes into every episode. Like where do you want Graham's character to go? She's quirky and unorganized with a good heart with ups and downs and probably always will be like that if she hasn't changed by her late 30's.
Of course it is very convenient that both pairs of same sex siblings is the complete opposite of each other.

I had not thought of this. I was trying to put my finger on what is different than last season. And so far it is that it has been a little less about everyday life and a little more adding extra drama.

Agreed. It was nice to see Drew do something. I feel like he hasn't been the focus of anything in the last ten episodes.

My favorite part of the episode, and one of the things this show can do really well at times, is tugging you back and forth between "look at how great being a parent is" and "look how much it sucks." From Drew getting rejected and being upset with Sarah to Joel beaming when the kid tells Sidney "Your dad's awesome" and her saying "I know."

I think I felt for him most when he was relating his conversation with his son. And how does Max feel when he realizes his condition was so unsettling to his parents that it necessitated a support group.

Yep that whole scene I had water coming out of my sockets. I wish they would have ended the episode with that scene somehow, but they had to do closure for all the plots in it.

dunno if anyone noticed but drew's study partner was Luke's daughter in gilmore girls (also the daughter in Dexter), so a lauren graham/GG connection.

I spent the entire second half of the episode wondering what Christina was dressed up as, then two minutes before the end of the episode they tell me she's a cotton swab. Cotton swab? Everybody else had awesome costumes (lol at Amber as a banana) and she was the only one who was unidentifiable.

Also, I couldn't believe they ruined the cliffhanger ending in the trailer for next week's episode.

Terrible costume for a cotton swab. lol I thought she was actually supposed to be a cloud.

Happy about tonights episode, and was really looking forward to it since the previews aired last Tuesday after the show. Still doesn't touch the greatness of the Roseanne Halloween episodes though.

And my favorite costume was Craig T. Nelsons. He looked like he was so exicited, and so interested when he was on-screen in the costume.

This show does that too much! Last season you knew Dax's character was going to get together with Jasmine from the opening credits!

They did point out that Halloween was huge for the Braverman's and she hated it.

Starting to enjoy these past couple of episodes. Show seems to have rediscovered it's groove.
