Someone said that this isn't The Office anymore. Here's a read for you:
NBC's The Office Isn't The Show It Used To Be

I agree, btw.

I agree that this has happened, but I don't really think it's a bad thing.

It just sometimes feels like I'm enjoying Scrubs in an office, rather than the show The Office used to be.
Hit the nail on the head imo.

Ive been watching the '04-'07 seasons in syndication ever since the new season started and can see how much more I was enjoying the show and actually cared about the Jim/Pam plotline. Still fun to watch now but it seemed to grab me on a whole nother level.

Episode was pretty unfunny by the office standards.

It was so-so, wouldn't consider it a waste of 30 minutes or anything.

Characters who were present in the first two or three seasons and are still present haven't become much more eccentric.

Kevin has become dumber, but Dwight, Creed, and Michael were always weird dudes (in different ways, obv).

Meredith was never normal. Remember her exposing herself to Michael in the christmas episode of season 2?

Stanley and Phyllis are pretty much normal people still.

Kelly has obv changed since the early episodes of season 1, but really that occurred in season 2.

Toby has become sadder, but that's simply realistic character development.

Michael used to be more like that David Brent character. An annoying boss, who thought he was funny. A guy who tried to hard to be likable, and in doing so often was unlikable. But he seemed like a real person. It makes sense that Carrell wanted to make this his own character, and they slowly moved away from that. But since the beginning he has gotten really stupid.

Dwight has become self-aware. As someone else said, he used to be Michael's blind sycophant (ala Gareth), but now he's just this weird dude. Well, he was always weird, but now they've turned him into someone like Creed, using arbitrary wackiness to make a joke.

Kevin has also gotten dumber. I think Merideth used to be a little more complex than the one-note alcoholic nympho that she is now. Can't say for sure, would have to go back and watch some of the old episodes to be sure.

Have seen a few of the old ones popping up recently as the show is now in syndication. It is pretty jarring to see how the characters have changed over the seasons.

Yeah, mine said that too, I was like wtf?

I really didn't like this episode, just not very many funny moments at all. Just about the only thing I liked was at the beginning when Michael was talking about how to make small talk and Creed suggested talking about stuff that's actually small like peas, ball bearings, and dimes. He really killed that line!

I really liked this. There were some bad parts, but Michael was a lot more tolerable, and it wasn't as over the top. Loved Oscar as the lone champion of sanity.

I'm rewatching season 2 and I'm noticing Dwight has become much more confidant and capable since then.

Watched the 6 season 1 episodes yesterday.
Kevin had maybe 4 lines, but didn't talk like a ******/the way he talks at the moment at all.
Very slowly but not even close to as inhuman as he talks now.
