So since the sister and brother aren't actually related is there any chance they could get together? That would be pretty hot imo

So the weird car full of people that pulled up on Kevin while he was taking a smoke break while jogging in his white shirt right before the disappearing... either we're being dicked with or those were GR members assuming he was aware of what's about to happen too. Less obvious stuff being Patty's conversation with Laurie and the deer acting crazy. If there really isn't going to be any kind of explanation payoff on this stuff instead just focusing on the characters themselves, I'm going to end up hating this show.

I kind of liked the episode, and I probably should have seen the baby disappearing coming, but they do a good job of getting you to assume she was looking to get an abortion. That still leaves room for that being her intention, but it finally gives us a reason as to why she joined the Guilty Remnant.

How are they not related? Pretty sure they have the same mother, but just different fathers.

My take with the GR and the smoking is that these people have chosen to disappear from society (so they are more or less slowly committing suicide) so by smoking maybe they are showing the others their commitment. I then figure Kevin quit smoking once he sees his wife smoking for the opposite reason, because he doesn't want to give up.

I think that's a pretty good read.

The thing is, they didn't wait around for a slow death with Gladys when they stoned her, patti said Laurie's time was coming "soon", and somehow patti decided to off herself right then even though it wasn't planned since it was Kevin who abducted her. I really don't get their overall plan when the leader just kills herself.

Maybe, but we don't know the backstory of the last two.

Definitely one of the better episodes if not the best imo.

wtf it was sappy, cliched, and super predictable.
what exactly made it so great?
I love the idea of flashing back to right before it happened, it would just be hard for me to come up with a more cheesy obv way to go about it.

there was almost nothing interesting/surprising whatsoever. and while straightforward is totally fine if it's executed at a high level, that was like a lifetime movie of the week.

almost every cliche I can think of was thrown in.

absolutely awful.

The reason for smoking has definitely been mentioned but I don't remember it or which episode is was. I think it was pretty early on.

Finally got around to watching this, just in time for what I thought was the week of the finale, but it's not till the 7th.

I'm still not sure how I feel about it. It's got moments that intrigue me, annoy me, crush me and simply entertain me. I'm no doubt in for the next season unless the finale is unbelievably ******ed. But I'm really kind of hoping that it's cancelled prematurely, meaning after season 2.

It's looking more and more like the mysteries of this world, the ones that 99.9% of the viewers probably want to know, will never be answered. And that wouldn't bother me too much, but it feels like the show runners feel they're above having to even address it. I can't really explain it. I don't really want to watch season upon season and end up disappointed at the end, which I'm sure is going to happen.

That's not to say that I don't like the world and the characters. I like what they've done up to this point, but it's going to end up getting weirder and weirder, and more and more vague as it goes on.

The smoking is GRs way of demonstrating that nothing matters.

I think they do stuff like "weird car full of people" just to create a surreal atmosphere. It helps get the viewer into the mindset of what the characters would feel, which is just so much uncertainty re: their world.

that's my theory anyways
