I'm still trying to get my hands around what I watched, not because it was complex or shocking - no, because it was neither of those things. Everything they wanted me to care about I didn't, and instead I just watched stupefied. To be honest, it felt like a network TV show in that it was so formulaic, overwrought and paint by numbers. Plus, it's just plain bizarre to have spent to much time with Brody's wife and daughter early in the season only to not even show their reaction upon hearing the news that he died. Not that I wanted to see them again, but....WTF?

What an epic misfire. Hard to picture the show ever recovering from the debacle that was the past two seasons.

Other then the fact that the IRGC probably has more disdain for Al Qaeda then the CIA, I would give last episode a 7/10 in terms of entertainment value.

I will agree with Rizzzedizze, the way Brody went out was a let down. I was unable to feel the emotional side of this episode, IMO because of the unrealistic aspects of this season.

Any thoughts for next season? Maybe the storyline could involve a corrupt double agent working for the Mossad.

Because Carrie is the lead actress and this is a fictional TV show

Finally, Chris will get to have his revenge (not to mention a huge plot hole will be filled - his karate lessons). Looking forward to next season.

I don't remember that at all. Did she mention to brody that she heard that?

In any case, it's 100% that nobody else knows.

I think that's what they meant, yes. (Carrie brought it up in episode 9 as something he was responsible for)

Isnt he also technically 'responsible' for that muslim couple in Caracas?

Pretty sure the people who murdered that muslim couple are technically responsible for that

I enjoyed the finale. Next season will be terrible. Carrie has a little daughter and how will she manage taking care of her, disobeying orders and creating chaos inside the CIA at the same time? Oh, I know: she will hire Saul as a private contractor to do the work for her. GG

A few things:

1) Based on the comments here, it seems there will be (at least) 1 more season. If so, the finale was very anticlimactic; don't these shows try to throw in some cliffhanger to keep you guessing for a year?

2) I agree with the comments above that this would be as close to ideal a series ending as they can get. Pretty much all the loose ends are tied up, Saul is retired, Carrie is moving...they don't have any major unanswered questions remaining. Carrying on the show now would be due only to inertia, and will probably turn into Dexter, and many more suicidal people itt...

3) I really thought (and this is still a small possibility, considering there will be another season) that Javadi could have easily faked Brody's death (Brody held on a long time, and the last shot shows him struggling, but breathing - his neck hadn't yet snapped), both to appease his people and also to maintain some American friends (the few who still care about him, anyway). I know many of you will attack this outlandish idea, but is it really that much more unrealistic than some other things that have happened on this show?

4) Wasn't Saul still director at the time that he was betrayed by Lockhart and Dar-Adal? Even if the President ordered it, shouldn't he be giving the order to the acting CIA director, not the one who takes over 11 hours later? It's not like they couldn't reach Saul, he was sitting in his office, moping.

Overall show 7.5/10, assuming it ends now.

To kill Brody now, they should have done that at the end of season 1, not that this wasn't already clear 2 years ago after that horrible season finale of an otherwise good enough season.

Only hope for this show is that now Carrie turns in revenge mode and kills (helps kill) all those that allowed Brody to be captured and hanged.

Javadi subbed a ringer in, Brody alive and helping him pull the strings.

not as complicit, but to some extent, yes, he endangered those people by going there.

Sometimes. But certainly not always.

Dexter kept following the same template every season. We'll see how it works out, but pretty clear that Homeland is not going that route.

I think the President just said **** it, Lockhart, you're the Director right now.

Ya pretty sure president trumps all. Its not like you can just tell the president to EAD I'm doing this. Not even saul or showtime have that power.

Lol at brodys death being fake.

Really really really

Pretty disappointing finals. 24 had its ups and downs but was way more entertaining.

Hopefully next season starts a new story line, but Mandy's involvement is a must. If he's out I'm out.

It was pretty big last season, it was 100% agreement that Carrie knew that Brody killed the VP. I can't find the exact posts I'm looking for, but start around here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/15...l#post36025788

Post #1300 by goofyballer shows we knew for sure, I'm too lazy to look for more. If you go back and watch season 2 it will be obvious to you too.

Also, I agree 100% no one else in the CIA knows.
