That Hannah is getting someone slightly out of her league lookswise is also kind of the point of the episode, she is viewed as a conquering hero, because she is from New York.

People are honestly surprised that good looking dudes sleep with less good lucking chicks sometimes? What planet do you ****ing live on??

This was my least favorite episode so far, I like the characters as a group much more than I like them on their own, but I really liked the last scene on the phone with Adam, making him a bit more fleshed out, and not just some freaky weird dude using Hannah.

Why did the pharmacist go for Hannah? Cos they had a nice jokey exchange in the pharmacy and she's not some sort of horrible beast.

This show is considerably more honest about it's characters than almost any other show on tv. The're flawed in ways that are completely identifiable and relatable. They're also redeemed by positive personality traits. Kind of like 99% of humanity.

It's not like Seinfeld or Always Sunny have likable casts of characters, but Hannah and co are 'horrible' and 'repulsive'? Gimme a break.
is it shocking that i find hannah repulsive? it seemed like a natural reaction to someone who seems completely devoid of empathy for others, who lashes out at her parents for not continuing to spoil her, who tries to extort her boss only after he rejects her advances, who tries to steal from the pharmacy clerk even as she's reveling in the fact that he's giving her attention. i'm pretty sure the show is doing its best to portray her in as repulsive a light as possible.

eh, half truth, half troll

I really dont give a crap who Hannah bangs. I'm not afraid of sounding gay when admitting another man is "attractive in the eyes of females." its not like the dude in this episode was a male model.

Actually, who was that dude, b/c ive seen him in other stuff

lol @ reading that as her trying to steal from the pharmacy clerk.

i mean, lol @ not reading it that way. fun game.

edit: i was referring to her trying to put the money back in her purse after negotiating the price down.

The least satisfying episode so far, but I love that it is taking risks. Hannah is one of those chicks who looks better naked than in her stupid ill fitting clothes. Most fatties get worse the more you see (or so I hear lol), so I'll give her that.

Surprised no one mentioned the funniest line, "Am I tight like a baby?"

No, they don't show CK's breasts a lot, but they do show him masturbating/taking a ****/having weird sex/etc. kind of a lot.
CK did show his ass on lucky louie, and he showed his ass in louie as well. i'm not keeping count, just saying that if FX were HBO, i don't think he'd be afraid to show ugly people naked.

the marnie-hannah exchange from episode 1 about 'never seeing me naked' seems like a meta-comment - we probably won't see marnie naked. that was brian williams' agreement with the producers - they would cast her famous daughter and get that name recognition bump, as long as she wouldn't appear nude.

I feel like this thread is confirming the male stereotypes that it complains about

Yeah, I got the same feeling after Marnie's first fully-clothed sex scene.

And whether or not Lena Dunham is attractive - kudos to her for being so brave with her performance on this show, especially when surrounded by young actresses that apparently don't want the stigma of appearing naked on camera associated with their careers.

That was a really good episode of television. Definitely was the funniest episode of this series and probably the best overall as well. The last scene in the cab with Hannah trying not to smile (and failing) was great.

I can't get into Jessa's character, or her dynamic with mid life crisis guy at all. She/it just does nothing for me so far.

Good ep overall though

Yea, I liked how they went right from the "DO YOU WANT ME TO BE YOUR ****ING BOYFRIEND" to her in between the two of them, struggling not to smile. Good stuff.

Last scene saved the episode, show sucks whenever Jessa is on screen.

Yeah, Jessa is horrid. And even if Marnie was in her freaking dress I might turn her down.

But totally not really at all. Sh*t was ******ed though.

This was the best episode so far. I'm really enjoying the relationship between Hannah and Adam. I like a lot of the side characters like shoshana and the band members. It's a shame how bad Jessa is and how bad Marnie can be at times.

Pretty surprised that the character of Adam is carrying this show to a large degree, I expected that plotline to be a boring one after the pilot.

Yeah the development of Adam has been really good. I agree that Jessa is the weakest part of this show by a comfortable margin, but I'm liking all the other characters.

Also, the AV Club's TV editor posted maybe the best comment I've ever read on the internet and I think it should be required reading for some people.

Great episode again. As since the pilot, i don't like the hippie chick. But the rest was good.

Last scene(s) were awesome. Adam is, indeed, carrying the show right now, and his scenes with Hannah are all great. Great last shot of Hannah trying not to smile, perfect.

Also something to be said for the ending credit music which has be great everytime.

Really loving this.
