The Fear Index isn't available anywhere in the US now. Maybe AMC+ or others will air it several months later.

I'm down to choosing starting either Bosch, Hanna, or The Americans. I saw the first couple of seasons of The Americans when they first aired, but would probably start fresh. Any thoughts on those?

All three are a good watch IMO. Not sure if I could really rank them..... I guess Hanna > Bosch > The Americans? All three are very good in their own way through.

Severance on AppleTV+. Yowza! I think it largely depends on if they will be able to pull it together by end of the season (has already been renewed for another season so will likely end on a cliff-hanger), but if they do, the show will undoubtably end up on majority best-of lists at the end of the year. The problem with these mystery-box shows however, as Lost taught us, is that it's easy to throw stuff out there, but an entirely different thing to give satisfying answers.
My theory after the first three episodes:
Spoiler:

The work they are doing in itself is meaningless and they are actually the ones being experimented on/being observed to see if the tech can be scaled to larger segments of population.
Likewise, I think the reason why the company cares so much about the people "inside" dozing off is that brain can possibly bypass the device while sleeping and tap into the real "outside" memories which they obviously do not want.

I wouldn't compare the streaming mystery box shows like homecoming/severence to the NBC cluster**** 20+ episodes a season variety

The problem with severence is whether they can tell a story within the allegory they locked themselves into.

Severance is so good. A must watch if you've spent any time in the corporate world.

Slenderhusband you popped up as an ignored poster which led me down a rabbit hole as to why- thanks again for posting legitimate breaking bad season six spoilers! You should be permabanned from ootv.

Yea, from memory the back half of season 4 was better than any of it, but I like all the seasons. I haven't watched the first 2 of Season 5 yet.

Yeah Hanna gets pretty bad, fun for 1 season. Americans actually a very good show (and I say this thinking it was overrated)

Just binged Americans a few months ago at my wife's urging (she loves it and was willing to watch it again so I could see it).

I thought it was very very good if a bit implausible. It's held together by the 2 lead actors who are excellent. The daughter was almost too annoying for me to deal with, but overall definitely worth watching, if a bit over-praised imo.

Didn't think it would be the kind of show I enjoy, but after 3 episodes I'm really liking The Gilded Age. Old vs. new money drama in 19th Century NYC.

Same. I liked it enough that I went and watched all of Downton Abby in a week or two.

Yo E1 of Severance WAS GREAT. So that's my next one.

In the queue (no idea if we'll do them):

Peacemaker (supposed to be great)
Euphoria
the Fett one (I'll do that alone if I have to)

Euphoria season 2 was wildly entertaining. Enjoyed it much more than the first season.

That's funny you guys liked s2 of Euphoria better I quite enjoyed s1 but found this one a bit of a mess. It's definitely worth a watch though. Peacemaker and Yellowjackets are on my list rn, I also need to start Billions over I was binging it awhile ago then moved and lost track of where I was in the show and never went back to it.

Yellowjackets is a lot of looking at tits that almost none of us should be looking at

Fun show though.

Okay where are all the lying dog-faced pony soldiers still saying that S2 of Righteous Gemstones was good? Season 1 was good, S2 was absolute garbage.

I have no idea what to make of The Righteous Gemstones season 2.... that was just freaking weird as hell throughout. And a severe lack of Judy gems. The few they did have felt forced in.
