lots of people seem to be sleeping on Deadwood for their top 5 or 10 lists.

understanding Justified is an Elmore Leonard thing, i'm pretty sure the popularity of Raylan Givens and the show would not have been as extreme if Seth Bullock never existed.

Deadwood is in my top 10. The reason Justified is higher is that Deadwood didn’t get a proper ending.

Has anyone watched all 3 episodes of The Passage? Is it worth watching?

i have and probably not. im a huge vampire/syfy guy and im only slightly intrigued so far.

ymmv ofcourse, but i feel like there has been a ton of shoving the characters down your throat in order to try and get you to like them, and none of them are likable other than the little girl sometimes.. feels like there has been 7 minutes of story in 3 hours of show.

not really game breaking spoilers but for those that hate them.. my take on the show with plot points
Spoiler:
in 3 episodes we've learned of the actual story. dude got infected, weird covert science lab infects others to cure diseases(?) but it kills most of them, no conclusions or success, we must need a child, we can cure the whole world because reasons?, the vampires have some weird issues/powers..

Have now finished the season and agree with this. Definitely cut down on the laughs and upped the drama as the season progressed.

Solid show that reminds me exactly why being a teenager sucks.

Do you have to be a Star Trek fan to enjoy The Orville? never watched the show (Star Trek) before.

Deadwood is my favorite subscription channel show of all time. If it had it’s final season, it could have been my all-time fav in any media.

Hmmmm. This is tough.

IMO, The show is an exact clone of later seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation from the late 80’s to early 90’s, with **** jokes added.

I love it, because I loved ST:TNG and laugh at **** jokes.

You have the opportunity to watch it with virgin eyes & ears and report back what you think.

Deadly Class is a really entertaining watch. It's billed as "a coming-of-age story set against the backdrop of late 1980s counterculture, which follows a disillusioned teen recruited into a storied high school for assassins," and it's exactly what you think it would be after reading that description.

The Russo Brothers are exec producing it since they loved the graphic novel that it's based on so much. They got the writer to come on board as well, and it shows. It's intentionally trope-y and comic book-y, but if you can accept that, it's done quite well and is a good watch. Do recommend. (3 episodes aired so far, SYFY, Wednesdays)

Billions. After recently catching up on The Man on The High Castle (pretty good) and The Americans (really great), I started watching Billions. Finished the first season last night. It's not bad, but haven't loved it either. I would probably still keep watching if I didn't hear that it kinda goes downhill after first season. That's how you guys felt about it too ?

I’ve also only watched season 1 seemed meh. Prob will return at some point, I don’t normally sub showtime. I had a chance when I subbed for Escape at Dannemora but never entered my mind.

Kamikam, don't know who you heard that from but billions S2 is definitely better than billions s1. sepinwall can be an idiot so i'm loathe to cite him too much, but i believe he stopped six episodes into S1, and refused to watch more even tho a lot of his readers and his real life friends were telling him to get back on it.

at the end of S2 he made a post along the lines of 'yep i'm caught up and yep this is the most fun show on tv' - a sentiment i strongly agree with. keep going.

i would be very curious to see netflix internal numbers on how many people stop watching russian doll after part or all of the first episode, especially if they aren't aware of the critical acclaim it's getting. for a pilot i thought it was dreadful.

how are you enjoying the rest? i will keep going, but haven't yet.

I finished Russian Doll yesterday. Its.. OK. Wouldn't recommend really. Its 8 ~25 minute episodes so a quick watch. If you watched ep 1, watch ep 2 for sure as its a big improvement. It wasn't really what I expected and the lead was a kind of bizarre person.

I tried to get into Deadly Class..but couldn't. The 1987 throwback is cool, but I think the problem is that pretty much all of the characters are unlikable. And all they're is learning to kill other people, when they're not trying to kill one another. idk just was kind of a chore to watch imo and I gave up ep3. Too bad, would love a 1-2 punch of The Magicians (which I do like) and another SyFy show.

It's not the highest tier of tv but it's a fun show to watch, dont agree that it goes downhill either. I think if you enjoyed S1 you'll like the others

The World's Best - I don't like the judges or the format. If the acts were any good I could just fast forward more than I do on AGT, but it appears the acts suck too.
