I'm enjoying it but have the same worries. It's not a story that can be milked. We need to start seeing answers.

I caught an episode of Colbert's Late Show this week. It was shockingly bad. Carol Burnett was one of the guests, and Kevin Spacey was the other. Spacey read Burnett a poem he wrote to her, it was totally unfunny and for some reason he did the whole thing in a Jimmy Stewart voice. I know CBS skews old, but damn. Colbert's bits weren't any better, it was all just totally bland. Good for Colbert for getting paid, but if this is typical the Colbert Show will really be missed.

Colbert has by far the worst late night show currently on the air

Doesn't look too bad

OK, like others, I have finally given up on Quantico after 4 episodes.

Also abandoned Minority Report, Limitless, and Blindspot after 2 episodes. Have any of these picked up recently?

I've been disappointed in it so far. If I'm gonna watch one at all these days, I probably watch Kimmel.

ya colbert is so bad it's shocking.
I expected it to be a big step down but never imagined it could be this bad.

I'm sure Colbert feels tremendous pressure to succeed and it is clearly affecting him. He knows he is expected to turn the ratings around in a big way and there is that little detail about telling over for a late night legend

The Player is developing into a genuinely very good tier two show. Its also a great reminder of how awesome Wesley Snipes is at what he does well.

Doesn't have the comedy of Human Target or the depth of Person of Interest and isn't as good as either but it's a good mix of the two with its own twist. Once you get past the goofiness of the premise that a secret underground casino exists where mega millionaires and billionaires bet on crime for entertainment you come to the realisation that it can do some awesome of the weeks stopping a whole range of action scenarios. The build up of the backstory of the "dealer" and "pit boss" is actually genuinely first class way above what this kind of show normally does.

Spacey's impression of Stewart is incredibly good. It's also incredibly annoying.

Someone tried to get me to watch the first episode of The Player. Could not watch it, way too heavy handed with ridiculously bad casino terminology usage. Guessing it's far more tolerable for people who have little to no casino experience or knowledge.

Finally watched Game Of Thrones. Marathoned the whole thing over a couple of weeks. Enjoyed it immensely. No way in hell I'm going in the GoT thread tho.

this is pretty much exactly what i think as well.. Not quite on the level of human target and PoI, but watchable every week as an action show. Shame it's probably going to get canceled though.

Stumbled on an older show I didn't know existed! Has anyone here seen The Outer Limits? Is it worth watching/does it still hold up today?

Which version? The one from the 1960s was a decent competitor/rival to The Twilight Zone. I never watched the remake.

I meant the remake. I already find it quite challenging to watch movies from the 60s, I'd imagine 60s TV-shows would be even harder .

The 60s Outer Limits has some pretty classic SF episodes that are very good. Like Twilight Zone they aren't all good but there are some really good ones.

That being said the more recent version sucked.

I like it but I was thinking after the season that it seemed to have even less broad appeal in s2, so hardly a surprise.

Oh man I hope not. Any scuttlebutt on this? No idea of the ratings for YTW or Married s1 or s2, but I was under the impression the network favored Married. Hopefully I'm wrong and YTW is back.

You're The Worst is on FXX + has a lot more critic appeal going for it.

The second part sounds great but the first part is just where ever they decide to put a show right? Like both shows were on FX in 2014. and the league and always sunny were on FX for years, until they put them on FXX.

Being on FXX dramatically lowers ratings expectations for shows, so it's good any critically liked show is on the channel. It means it has a much higher chance of longevity than if it had been on FX. It doesn't mean it has an awesome chance of renewal, it just means it has a much higher chance of getting to stick around than it would somewhere else that actually has ratings expectations.

I doubt Sundance is a good comparison, but viewing expectations from AMC to Sundance are probably not completely out of the ballpark with how FOX/FX treats FXX. Maybe The Grinder will get to move to FXX if FOX cancels it.

Judy Greer is a dead ringer for my old lady, so the Married news hit me like a ton of bricks.

I read the season 2 finale was their worst ratings of the year for any of their shows.
