Me, three!! I'd heard about the subject matter becoming a show, but didn't know the title. And when I'd hear this title, I figured it was some sort of fantasy show. That I'm not interested in at all. This though.... **** yeah!!!

I bailed on Snowfall on the first season out of boredom. It seemed like a mashup of all the movies/tv shows about the same subject in a new package. The Mexicans really dragged the show down as that was the snoozefest part. So it sounds like it gets unboring after season 1?

The subject matter is always interesting to me so I'm surprised it didn't click with me.

Yeah Season 2 picks up quite a bit. You get introduced to Carter's brother (who is awesome) and get a lot of backstory on him. The Mexican characters still play a part but it only focuses on a handful of characters.

If anyone liked The Trip a show where two men in early middle age bicker and try to make each other laugh you might also like

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0b7r2k6

Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing

A show where two men in late middle age bicker try to make each other laugh and contemplate their limited time remaining on this earth. It also contains beautiful sweeping HD shots of the English countryside. Very safe, not exciting or even really all that interesting but rather contemplative. Like fishing itself you will only enjoy it if you can appreciate long stretches where nothing really happens except relaxing and taking time to enjoy the view. Breaking bad it ain't but if you think you might enjoy it you probably will because it's very well done for what it is.

edit : For the record I think fishing is dumb and boring but seeing these guys get so excited about catching a fish actually helps me 'get it' for the first time. If you're at all into fishing this should be a good watch too.

We caught a few episodes and enjoyed them all. Both Whitehouse and Mortimer have been great and I've been loving the scenery.

Bob Mortimer is hilarious. I always watch clips of Would I Lie to You, 8 out of 10 Cats, and Countdown when I can't sleep.

BBC show from 2014 called Detectorists - great lead chemistry between actors Mackenzie Crook and Toby Jones playing Andy Stone and Lance Stater , life losers whose sole fun is derived by the attending meetings at the DMDC, a club for guys that use metal dectors, which in turn provides the leads they need to search for buried treasure. Not much happens to push the plot, just enough to keep it interesting -watching the characters interact is the best part.

detectorists is one of my all time favorite shows. it's def not for everyone, but worth a try. it hilarious, touching, relaxing. but if you don't have a soul you will just be like "wtf is this garbage?" so a lot of you won't like it

btw, mackenzie crook(weird skinny guy on UK office) stars in, directs, and writes the show.

i'd also argue that they are not "life losers". they appear to be losers, but they have great lives. they are happy, healthy, have a great friendship, a great hobby. they are living the dream! lol!

You are correct - 'life losers' is way too harsh. They are move like 'lovable, quirky oddballs' than losers.

Regardless, the show is definitely worth a watch

Didn't see this mentioned anywhere when it came out earlier this year (I think?), but the Catch 22 miniseries Hulu did directed by Clooney with Clooney and Kyle Chandler as a couple of the incompetent military head honchos was about as good of an adaptation of the book that they could have done imo. Very dark, very funny, very hard to watch at times. Would recommend, especially if you've read the book.

unbelievable

new netflix mini series about a girl who reports a rape.

i'm only half way through the first episode but it looks to me like she was raped, and then victimized again by the cops. seems pretty heavy handed, and produced for lowest common denominator. some of you might think it's a great show

seems pretty boring to me so far. i def don't need to watch a mini series to know what pos cops are. i know first hand. i don't need to see it on tv. i see it in real life.

I'm watching it right now and your description doesn't fit what I am watching at all as almost allways.
The cops are pretty fair in the first episode.
Spoiler:
no evidence. 4 different stories from the victim. Foster family having doubt. In real life no one expect cop to push further when they are swamped

cops fair?!?!?!?! lol!!! jfc man!

a teenage girl is brutally raped. so a man shows up with a gun and shows no compassion and asks her to relive the assault for him. she very reluctantly tells the man the story. then two more men with guns show up and ask to do the exact same thing, no compassion. and all men, and all have guns. then they take her to the police station, an incredibly threatening, unpleasant environment, and she has to go through it all over again. and then they ask her to do it yet again in writing.

fair? what is there even to be fair about? should the cops arrest her? accuse her of lying? how would the cops have handled the situation worse in the first episode?

she's a kid

She changed her story how many times? Yea, police officers have guns.
They didn't have an SVU department and Olivia Benson to talk very soft to her.

Undone on Amazon Prime released Friday, and its stunning. Im only through the first episode, but so far Im really enjoying the acting of the lead, and Bob Odenkirk is set to make his appearance im the next episode.

Its a show made woth rotoscope animation by the Bojack Horseman team and is likely one of the most beautifully animated tv shows ever produced.

You are bad at watching TV. Episode 1 doesn't show horrible police work you depict.
Spoiler:
it show a victim that isn't believed because nothing suggest what she said happend, her foster mom **** up by questioning her credibility to the police and she gives a ton of different versions. Could the cop have more empathy probably, would a woman be better suited to interview her in that situation yes. Would the police face any sanction in what is shown no. You see something you want to see not something they show us. Sometimes the police will do nothing life is unfair when you are on the receiving hand of that that kind of problem.
In reality her case would get shut unless the rapist do it again.

Second épisode was more infuriating with the female inspector speaking like her kids were sleeping in the next room pretty much all the time no matter what the situation was. Talking about someone doing her job badly that was a real problem.
