i do this all the time now... well, only for comedies, so i guess you cant really spoil a comedy

that being said, im 50/50 on reading the books, not because i dont want to, but b/c reading this series seems like it will be really time consuming

But enough about silly books.

I got chills when I saw Dany step into the throne room and the ceilings burned off. And mfing Drogo. That was one of the best scenes in the series. No idea how you can be disappointed.after that.

The thing about reading or not reading the books...

One of the things seriously driving me to read them is the fact that I could very well have key things spoiled for me before season 3 anyway. I mean, I found a pretty massive spoiler just browsing facebook that still ticks me off.

So if I happened to overhear some conversation at a restaurant where they say "OMG, can you believe that Dany is actually a white walker and her whole storyline was Sam's dream" I'm going to be PISSED and therefore I'd much rather read the books and learn it myself

Heh.

I'm super careful about this and haven't been spoiled on anything yet. It helps that I don't read Facebook or twitter and that I don't have any friends. Finally that comes in handy!

Well I'm hoping to stop myself after book 2, so maybe not.

LOL I quoted this and forgot the context, think it was in reference to Winterfell. It was Lord Bolton's bastard and his men outside Winterfell. Being as he was a bastard son who knows how loyal to Robb he actually is, he certainly wasn't fighting with him before he was sent to rescue Winterfell. Theon did say there were 500 men, I think that's how many and we see the Iron Islanders dragging Theon away and then Winterfell is burned to the ground. It was pretty confusing.

Obviously Varys is her ally in Kings Landing since there was that scene in season one with him and Illyrio, the guy Dany was staying with talking about her. My guess is Varys is loyal to the Targaryens since they are the rightful rulers of Westeros. I'm sure there are other houses that would also be loyal to her especially with the Lannisters in power and the awful little prick on the throne.

Tywin is an *******, remember Tyrion saying a dwarf is the same as bastard to their father. Tywin used him when he needed him but he's too arrogant to ever acknowledge that Tyrion was instrumental in saving KL. He wants all that glory for himself. Also Cersie hates Tyrion, she blames him for the death or their mother and maybe Tywin does to, that or Cersie uses that to her interest. Luckily Tyrion is smarter than all of them.

Vix, your enthusiasm right now is really cute.

Also, yay we saw direwolves!

I read ahead during season 1 and immediately regretted it.
Watch the current season on tv then read up to that point in the books imo

Probably going to start reading book 2, I won't read 3 I just want to see what they changed. I am going to be angry if Tyrion dies in the book.

Awesome episode though, was hoping to see Mance Rayder this episode though.

I have a few questions though:

1. Is that butch chick taking the king slayer to King's Landing or Riverrun?

2. Who burnt down Winterfell and what happened to the 500 men and or Iron men.?

3. Did any of those white walkers look like Benjen Stark? I'm not sure if we are suppose to assume he is dead or if we will see him show up again. I have this weird suspicion he is Mance Rayder.

can't wait for next season etc. etc.

I have to say that I didn't think once about the vault being empty, until they were about to open it. Dany is now the Queen of Quarth no?

He had no money to pay for bodyguards, lol.

The King of Qarth is a pretty sick allegory on western capitalism.

If I could do it again I'd have not read the books. But I cant and Im not nearly strong willed enough to not do so. If you are then you win the show.

1. KL, they were lying to try and get away.
2. Was the guy that sent his bastard from the north or from the riverlands? If he is from the north, then I think it was the Iron Islanders. If he is from the riverlands, then I would say it was the bastard that did it because of Talisa.
3. I was thinking this too, but none did. It would have been obvious.

someone explain the whole Qarth thing, so they was operating without any wealth the whole time and it was just a lie? (havent really thought about got that indepth but spose ill read the books if have time over summer)

very confused about winterfell

Jaqen is quality! possibly become my fav character of the series, even though we hardly seen much of him. Wtf at the end aswell, not sure if i like or not.

I thought that the LF story line was pretty amazing. He was given Harrenhall, and then right after he offers Sansa help to get back in the good graces of the Starks. He is really on his game. I am interested to see what Varys meant by LF's weaknesses and what job he has in store for Ros. I wrote a few pages back about all the interations Ros has had. Makes sense that she will be important.

They have only been referring to them since season 1 episode 1, did you honestly think they wouldn't be a major part of the show?

Xora talked a big game, but he needed Dany way more than she needed him.

No doubt, but she is the queen though right? She is now incredibly rich. She doesn't need to beg for anything anymore.

She is now incredibly fake rich

Also oh doreah
06-04-2012 , 01:26 AM
I assumed Xaro had no guards because dragons jus burned them or scared them into submission. Him having no guards and no money is so epic. Sad to see him lose tho
06-04-2012 , 01:26 AM
Another thing, Doreah mentions she has seen a man that can change his face like people change clothes. Has she seen a man?
