Whatever dragonsteel is supposed to do doesn't really matter IMO. The scene worked very well.

Just a few thoughts.....

After Joffrey's death, Loras will fear for his sister's safety and demand to join the Kingsguard. Cersei, Jamie, and Olenna will gladly agree.

The Hound and Arya will run into Biter and Rorge, not Brienne and Podrick. This is where the Hound will get wounded and Arya will leave him to die.

Podrick does not go with Brienne. Brienne is going to leave the city well before Tyrion loses his trial by combat. She will either run into Gendry on the road or she will run into him at King's Landing before she leaves. Gendry will go with Brienne and not Podrick.

Podrick may go with Bronn to his new keep. They may follow Bronn's adventures next season. Because he is so well written and acted this would be awesome.

I hope the season will end with the Lady Stoneheart reveal. Not her being resurrected (too much time has passed) but her hanging the Frey men just like it happened in the epilogue of Storm of Swords.

late post and no one cares about my opinion which is probably the same as every other viewer but... that tavern scene was amazing and I waited so long for it.

Arya = best girl

A beautiful scene I know people are looking forward to this season is Sansa & the snow castle. If they can deliver there I'll be able to forgive them for the almost certainly disappointing viper vs mountain fight.

I'm a little curious with what they are doing at with the Night's Watch story line. Things are currently out of book order. In the books the Styr and co attack CB whilst Thorne and Slynt aren't there which puts Jon in charge of the defence and shows his ability to lead. His "trial" also takes place after that battle and before the main siege.

You spelled Cersei wrong.

Thorne is presumably dying in the start of the battle and Jon gets to take over when Slynt ****s himself.

I prefer the book timeline but it doesn't change a lot.

It's only bad if Thorne survives the battle victorious even if Jon did most of the work rallying the men.

well it's highly unlikely the mountain was acting on his own discretion.
he's well known to be tywins lackey and him killing/raping Elia n killing her kids wasn't likely to have been something he decided to do on his own.

obv he HATES the mountain, but it's not like he doesn't hate tywin as much if not more.

IMO.

wrt Daario he just doesn't possess a single quality that I can believe would drive dany crazy.

I mean in the book she's SO madly obsessed with him she loses her mind a lil (not to mention "letting him take her in every way a man can have a women") just can't buy that from this clown they cast.

who knows tho maybe he'll improve. he also had none of the swagger or arrogance Daario has in the books.

It seems like there are people ITT who think the Hound is dead??? He's not. He's off working in a monastery and transitioning into becoming a "true knight".

Yeah I'm not sure his story is finished, but I think he will 'die' this season and then be brought back whenever he needs to be, later on - only Weiss and Benniof know what season that will be.

They showed Ice in the "previously on" to tip off that Ned had it in KL. But they never showed it there in the show other than Ser Ilyn using an anonymous greatsword to execute Ned.

Was just thinking that there's a decent chance that Jaime will help Brienne take off with Sansa (after the purple wedding). Sansa and Brienne will be another odd couple as they travel to the Vale. (I guess Pod might go with them as well.)

Brienne is going to travel with Gendry.

Also, I think Maester Aemon is going to die this season at the wall rather than on the ship with Sam.

I have no idea how a viewer is supposed to know that's Ned's sword. They showed ned with Ice like two times in the first episode

they also showed him holding it and using it in 'previously on'

if someone didn't get that they should just stop watching

I don't think they contain spoilers but I do hate watching them. They take some of the fun/surprise out of episodes.

When I saw them for this ep I immediately though "Oh, I guess we are going to see Ser Dontos and Ice this episode."

If she instead turns on him due to jealousy over Sansa or something like that I will be pretty pissed.
I agree, I've been worried about this for a long time (and I generally accept book-to-show changes). I could be wrong, but it REALLY seems like they've changed her character.

No, they really couldn't have done worse unless they tried. That guy is as bland as they come- average looks and zero charisma.

I thought I remembered the Lannisters putting forward Gregor as a peace offering. Something like, "oh don't be mad at us, it was all this huge maniac they call the mountain..." In the show Oberyn brought him up from the beginning. Maybe I've misremembered though.

Martin set up that fight perfectly. Generally you have a pretty good sense of how a fight/battle/conflict is going to end up. But I remember beginning to read that chapter like I was watching a championship game between two equally matched teams. (And I was as absorbed in it as I would be if one of my hometown teams was participating). Great, great chapter.

He's well-cast, but that whole angle remains puzzling to me. Was that really the best way to get the poison to the wedding? Involve a drunk fool, who gives Sansa a necklace/hair net, which we really really hope she doesn't decide not to wear a the last minute.....as opposing to just, you know, bringing the **** in my pocket? (Or did I miss something?)
