If she instead turns on him due to jealousy over Sansa or something like that I will be pretty pissed.
I agree, I've been worried about this for a long time (and I generally accept book-to-show changes). I could be wrong, but it REALLY seems like they've changed her character.

No, they really couldn't have done worse unless they tried. That guy is as bland as they come- average looks and zero charisma.

I thought I remembered the Lannisters putting forward Gregor as a peace offering. Something like, "oh don't be mad at us, it was all this huge maniac they call the mountain..." In the show Oberyn brought him up from the beginning. Maybe I've misremembered though.

Martin set up that fight perfectly. Generally you have a pretty good sense of how a fight/battle/conflict is going to end up. But I remember beginning to read that chapter like I was watching a championship game between two equally matched teams. (And I was as absorbed in it as I would be if one of my hometown teams was participating). Great, great chapter.

He's well-cast, but that whole angle remains puzzling to me. Was that really the best way to get the poison to the wedding? Involve a drunk fool, who gives Sansa a necklace/hair net, which we really really hope she doesn't decide not to wear a the last minute.....as opposing to just, you know, bringing the **** in my pocket? (Or did I miss something?)
