just can't bring myself to care about Myrcella dying, Lannisers & Dorne conflict escalating seemed inevitable anyway.

Lol yeah. What's the best way to avenge your paramour?

Kill the girl his nephew is in love with. Also make sure that said nephew, whom is the only Martell heir is stuck on a boat with the father of the girl you just murdered. ****ing wp Ellaria.

Anyone else feel like they shot certain Myrcella's and Stannis' death scenes in an ambiguous manner because they aren't 100% sure what they are doing next?

I do see what you are saying about the scenes being shot ambiguously. But at the same time for what reason would Brienne let Stannis live? His character is done: has no family left, no army, nothing. So Stannis is definitely dead.

Myrcella, I could see her living (like 5-10%) because we have no proof that poison actually does kill you. Though it's mostly she is dead to have 2 of the 3 children of Cersi be dead by season 6.

My belief of not showing these deaths is because they wanted to one that was going to be most memorable to be the only one show on screen. Make it more powerful.

Which would actually play very well if she wants to get back at Martel. Who's left to rule Dorne? Herself and her three daughters.

I think the only way he's alive is if Brienne decides not to kill him, but the show hasn't done that much: heavily suggest someone's dead, then not actually have them dead.

That said, let's see what they do with Sansa - snow drift, or death? And I think we all believe John Snow is 99% not dead. And they did it for Bran & Rickon.

Myrcella is 100% dead - you don't bleed from the eyes like that if life is good. Massive internal hemorrhaging isn't something that medieval science is good at saving you from. Or modern science for that matter.

You also don't have a scene where Jaime's child says she knows he's her father and she loves him, then gets really ill, without her dying.

All of whom will be quickly executed by Areo Hotah as soon as Doran hears the news.

I know the show isn't great on logical consistency but it's mighty convenient that Myrcella shows symptoms within an hour of orally coming into contact with the poison whilst it takes Bronn quite some time (possibly days) to show any signs?

I also think they needed a reason for Jaime and Bronn to stay in Dorne. A consequence of getting rid of Aegon means that they can have Dany start her conquest from Dorne and without the Battle of Meereen there really is no reason why she should be in Essos for more than a couple episodes next season.

This is the last shot we see of Myrcella before she falls over. No blood coming from the eyes, just a solid nose bleed.

My biggest issue with killing Myrcella is that at this point in the books each major house has a female heir; Shireen, Myrcella, Dany, Sansa, Asha, Margaery, Arianne. Half of these characters are now either dead, non existant or irrelevant in the show. It's probably irrational but it annoys me because alliances by marriage are such a big thing in ASOIAF.

Yeah, the show circumstances are just really dumb.

"k"
Next day
"lolwut Traitor? you can't be srs."
"For the watch!"
"Ugh, fine I'll just stand here and get stabbed"

Seriously though it's so ****ing dumb. Exactly what is stopping Tormund and crew from slaying the 50 crows that are left at Castle Black?

I am a big fan of Stannis in the books, and was growing to like what they were doing with him in the show but after the last couple episodes I just want him to be dead, so hopefully they just ****ed up the final shot or something and couldn't reshoot it but I have a bad feeling we are going to have a Brienne/Stannis team up next season against Ramsay.

The show does really suffer from only having 10 episode seasons, but I wonder how well they would actually make use of 2 or 3 more episodes per season. Would we have more stuff like Hardhome, or more aids like Dorne? I think it's probably the latter.

Jon Snow Could Warg into His Direwolf I mean, it will seem like a bit of a copout next season if this ends up being the solution. Especially since they didn’t establish Ghost as being anywhere near Jon.
rofl at the people that comment on this stuff.

If only they hadn't established exactly that like two episodes ago for this exact reason... =/

Pretty sure Stannis is dead. There's no conceivable arc for him. He has no army, no Davos or Melisandre and no one that would pay a ransom for him and there's nothing to suggest that Brienne would have a change of heart at the very last second.

I'm not a bookreader but recently read a lot in the wikis, so don't really know everything in detail.

When Brienne left, Sansa lit the candle. Podrick possibly could see that and stop her last second and suggest using Stannis to gain favor with the Boltons. Handing over Stannis to the Boltons would get her into Winterfell and Stannis most likely would die anyways afterwards. Don't think it's too far fetched, it was odd that they didn't show Stannis dead.

Where was Ghost though? Shouldn't he have been going nuts somewhere? Weird that he comes out of nowhere to save Gilly but is just chilling while Jon gets stabbed.

Reading that interview with Harrington, I believe he really thinks that he is gone. He was talking about having the freedom to do other projects now and being very emotional after shooting his last scene.

Now sure, it could be a long con and he could be in on it but he seems convincing. I mean none of us really know if Jon survives. Everyone thinks so, but in this story nothing is certain.

With that said, I don't believe this is the end for Jon but it makes you wonder.

I still think it's a con, this conflicts with news that he is getting a big pay raise. I guess it could be true, but I'll be shocked if he stays dead.

I just don't see how that part of the story can be carried without jon, seems like awful writing at the expense of a little shock value in his death. They skipped over too many characters in the show to move forward interestingly around the wall.

this is mostly a problem for a bookreader - show watchers don't really know of the POV storytelling angle which becomes problematic without Jon. in the show they have Mance at the Wall to command the wildlings and other known Watch characters + Melissandre up there. there is plenty to go on even without Jon (though I think Mel revives him)

agree with this. Stannis has nothing left (and you even forgot his daughter and wife). although they left it ambiguous there is nothing left for him, except as someone else said take the black. but I doubt that

c'mon the show went out of it's way multiple times to explain how much the watch hated Snow bringing back the wildings. I don't understand anyone who thinks their reasoning was "thin". the Watch maybe isn't filled with guys who can think the long game, but they all hated their enemies being there with them

All the not subtle R+L=J hints, "jon always comes back", the staredown with the Nights king, the fact that all of the nights watch characters we've known the whole series are gone from the wall, Sam, Jon, Pip, Grenn etc. The show may not be as married to the POV thing but it's close when it comes to Jon & the wall. Mel or anyone else currently at the wall being the centerpiece of the scenes at the wall? 0 shot.
