Lol that's nice, do they ever mention the dragon's names? I'm pretty sure they mentioned Drogon but I can't recall if Rhaegal or Viserion are named on screen.

I'm surprised they even remembered Dracary's name, I had to look up the other two myself.

what's the name of the siege in ACOK? i'm afraid to admit I skipped half of that book and I've heard people talking about epic moment when one of the generals (?) that was unger siege against Stannis (?) said he would only come out if it was his true king calling for him.
as you can see, I don't know much about it, which is exactly why I'm trying to look it up.

edit: found it! http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php...#39;s_End_(299)
totally forgot there was more than 1 shadow baby in the books. would you guys read ACOK if you already knew what happens in the next 3 books? I have the book but I don't know if it's worth the time.

Definitely read ACOK, how did you end up skimming through that if you've read the later ones?

ended s02, needed to know what would happen next, my gf knew it and gave me all 5 books. started reading book 1 and realized it was a lot like the show, so I just skipped until the blackwater battle. didn't stop until I read ADWD.

The dragons' names aren't mentioned on the show, so ban that guy for spoilers. Also explains why so many show watchers think the dragon's name is Dracarys.

Because she calls the black one dracarys?

Book 1 is a lot like season 1 tbf, I felt the very same the first time I read it but I'm not a lazy f**ker so stuck with it.

There's a lot of different stuff going on once you get to the second book though, definitely read it.

She says dracarys to the black one to unleash the dragonfire. Of course since the word was never explained everyone thinks it's just the dragon's response whenever you say its name?

Honestly it makes no sense to me why they haven't named the dragons yet. They must be saving it for something huge.

Agree with this and I have no clue what it could be tbh. Thoughts?

I'm fairly sure they referred to Drogon by name, no?

1. What character were you the most upset(mad) about seeing die?
2. What character were you the happiest to see die?
3. If you could bring back any character, who would it be?
4. If you could kill off any character, who would it be?
1. Oberyn. I thought he had potential to be an awesome character but was killed off way too soon. Seeing him work with Tyrion could have been epic.
2. Cat. I know she's back(kind of) but I was soooo happy to see her die.
3. Tywin. It wouldn't make sense with the way the story has been going but with a few changes he could have made the story a lot better. Oberyn would have also been good for the reason I posted above.
4. Bran. I think everything to do with him going north has been beyond boring.

I'm not posting my friend's list b/c it really doesn't matter. The only 1 we agreed on was Bran.

Isn't there a scene in Qarth where she is showing Doreah or Dareah (her hot hand maid) that when she saws Dracarys, Drogon will breath fire and then she says "now I will not have to cook for them" or some **** like that?

Yeah pretty sure when she was trying to buy the unsullied, the guy said "the black one is the largest" and she called him Drogon

Watched that last night. Yeah you're right pretty hard to interpret it as anything other than a command

Just being facetious. But I'm almost positive they didn't mention the dragons' names on the show, maybe on some DVD extra, and of course they did in the books. Any non-show info will stir up the hornet's nest too.

I'm pretty sure Drogon has been named, at atleast one point. Rhaegal and Viserion have not been named if my memory doesn't fail me (which it often does)

Just rewatched the Astapor scenes, Drogon was never named.

MOTHER OF DRAGONS yet she apparently has named them Dragon 1, Dragon 2, and Dragon 3.

And lol @ gobbo reading the other thread, I can only imagine how tilted he gets reading all the spelling errors

Was just talking about this to my brother. What character do you think the show has improved the most from the books?

I think I'd go Jaime at least so far. In the books he's just a good soldier that loves Cersei and hates himself for it. I think the show dives deeper into his convictions/humanity et al.
