There's also hints in Game of Thrones (the book) that Tyrion is a targ. He's reading a book on dragons, and he has one eye the same color of Tars as well as some strands of hair. In this universe that is like getting a DNA test.


I'm also not sure that a lot of the "hints" of Cersei being a targ are actually hints and not just similarities to what is a ton of examples because GRRM likes to have a rich backstory. No one is suggesting Cersei is secretly a Baratheon because she was quite good at the intrigue required to take the throne but then started drinking like crazy and ran the kingdom into the ground once she was queen. (fwiw I think GRRM was actually going for this parallel)

Would be pretty epic if one was but the other wasn't!

Now the TV only thread has people speculating about Rhaegar + Lyanna = Jon Snow.

There is no freaking way that that speculation wasn't informed by some outside information, but it's not a spoiler, since it hasn't been confirmed yet.

edit: I now see I was late in noticing that. I'd agree with everyone above who said there's almost no chance that this speculation is just based on the show.

I just thought it was funny, after the recent over the top crusade against book readers for what was being posted in this thread. I hadn't looked at the TV thread for a few days, and the first thing I saw was the Rhaegar speculation.

R+L=J has come up multiple times in that thread, definitely was talked about last year.

I think the overall consensus itt is that a spoiled person brought up R + L = J and then some of the smarter tv watchers realized why it's probably true so there's nothing to be done.

He may not have read the books, but he's spoiled to some extent for sure, whether that be from talking theories with friends, to wiki, to reading posts on a board (with spoilers). He knows more than someone who just watches the show - even if they watch it 100 times and can quote every line from memory.

The two head dragon dream that Tyrion had hinted heavily that he was a half Targ half Lannister bastard. To the point his Lannister half wept as his Targ half ended the pure bloodline of House Lannister, first killing Tywin and later killing Jaime.

Once again ill bring this up but how can you not read the books if you truly love the show? I started reading after season 2 because I was like god damn I gotta know more detail and was subsequently blown away by how deep the **** goes and how much the show leaves out
