makes sense given the material this have so far. theyve got like 2/3 an episode after this season before they have to start writing from scratch.

well, season 3 was probably my favourite and its the best book so might as well make it as big as possible and maybe the other seasons will be action packed by condensing the last books.

There are too many important scenes in book 3 that impact the rest of the series. They can't cut anything.

Her best chance is that her kids marry into the line of succession and they end up on the iron throne.

She doesnt even have claim to the North because she falls behind Rickon who is about to return to the story and reclaim Winterfell (at least for now, Jon may get it in the end).

She will marry the heir of the vale, a pathetic man she will manipulate (having learned all her lessons of treachery well) but who will have a title that positions her high up in society after her wedding to Tyrion is annulled by the High Septon, then become Lady of the Vale when Robert Arryn dies (by the hand of LF probably).

Littlefinger either goes out the moon door or he is banished back to the fingers. His story never ends well for him.
Very good post. Cannot for the life of me seeing Sansa and LF being in a position to even possibly think of taking the throne. Its just not feasible whatsoever. I'm not even sure its in LF's long term plans.

What S4 scene are you waiting to see the most?

For me it's Oberyn vs. The Mountain. Also waiting to see how people react to Joffrey's wedding. I'm expecting to see parties in the street.

Stannis arriving at the wall. Lysa flying out the moon door.

Between Jon's defense of the wall, Joffrey's murder, Tyrion's trial, the duel, Tywin's murder, and LF's plotting there should be enough to fill a season pretty easily. And of course the Dany filler, some Arya stuff, hopefully no Brienne stuff, and more of Ramsay torturing Theon! Yara/Asha's campaign to free Theon should also be interesting. Bran's trip can probably be accelerated into this season

Yara trying to free Theon is really interesting because its entirely new.

I also hope to see whatever is taking the place of Victarion and his journey east.

I just hope it doesn't end in some comically bad tv writing like Yara scaling the wall and saving him after a confrontation with Ramsay. Some of Dany's stuff in the books is comically bad, but I looked past it because of how much I enjoyed her storyline, but seeing it on tv is kind of meh. I know this wasn't in the books, but the way they took Yunkai was comically bad.

I'm half-way through the short story. It's excellent.

im curious how they will do the kingsguard tower scene.
12-16-2013 , 12:36 PM
My hope is they use that scene to have Jaime give Oathkeeper to Brienne. Give him some dialogue that points out he is the Ser Barristan or Ser Gerold of his era but instead of being remembered with glory and honour he was placed in a position of having to break an oath to keep an oath where he can tell her about how the mad king was going to burn the city to the ground unless he stopped him.

In one scene they could easily turn Jaime into the show's ultimate hero (just forget the whole attempt to murder a kid stuff).

Did you watch the third season?

Bath house scene covered half of that.

Did he talk about the wildfire caches stored around the city during it? I dont recall that specifically.

Im guessing the bath scene in Harrenhal, if he did?
12-16-2013 , 01:06 PM
That's a good idea. A bit of a rehash of the bath scene and might not compare, but it's been awhile and would still be powerful.

edit: slow pony, don't think it being covered before necessarily makes it bad though.

How old is tv-show tyrion supposed to be?
I'm afraid I won't see one of my fav book scenes; oberyn telling tyrion about the time he saw him when he was still a baby.

and yeah, I don't know how you guys didn't remember that scene. it's probably my favorite game of thrones scene just because of jaime's backstory.
12-16-2013 , 09:11 PM
Been saying since the beginning that I hope Oberyn's introduction is left completely unaltered in the show. That is one of my favorite chapters and pretty much already written for tv.
12-16-2013 , 11:59 PM
I'm right there with you. I'm so hyped to see Oberyn I read that chapter again before posting that question.
from pod naming all the banners to oberyn messing with tyrion, it's all amazing.
