Pretty weak finale. It's ridiculous for Ryan to not ever kill Joe (and vice versa) but, they're in a tough spot because they know nobody will watch the show if Joe is dead.

Still, they could have come up with something better if they wrote with any kind of eye on the long-term, but they clearly write every script with no idea of where they're going next.

The result = underwhelming. Joe back in jail like Season 1. He's burned all his bridges with his associates on the outside now, so the stakes are even lower. I hope the writers realize that Joe breaking out of jail AGAIN would be too ridiculous even for this show. So, my best guess as to what they will do is for Joe to be Ryan's consultant a la Hannibal Lecter, so they can have sit-downs every week.

I agree and I hope S3 isn't so predictable. I'd have preferred Joe dying but it must be as much his show as it is Ryan's. I really hope Claire dies. She was the worst.

Who picked up Luke?

I'd like to say I won't be back but I'm afraid I will succumb when the time comes. I think it's still better than The Walking Dead.

I already know I'm in for S3. I read a review on the AVClub then some of the comments and am glad that the driver at the end was unidentified because I thought I must've missed something. One of the comments said that the writers probably don't know who it is either, and that seems 100% true.

I'm not sure what show you guys were watching, but that might have been the best episode in the series (lol). It embraced the comedy of everything as well as it possibly could have. That episode showed that it is purely meant to be embraced as an elite comedy, not a police procedural (for those who were still unsure).

It was a huge misstep for them to have Mark live, and think that anyone's going to be interested in Mark hunting down Ryan (wait, Mike Weston is who he'll be after, right? And Max, since they're the ones who will be punished according to the dining room diatribe).

Luke is like Timex. He was shot right in the heart, and showed nearly no ill effects before finally getting killed. He reminded me of the villain Ganz in 48 Hrs., whose memorable line was (according to imdb) "I don't believe it...*I* got shot!"

DC, Williamson wrote the finale, so there's almost no chance that he doesn't know who is driving the truck. I do think he did a really good troll of the audience expecting something big to happen at the end of the show. First I expected Max and Mike to get killed. Nope. Then, I expected Joe to get killed before he got in the van. Nope. Then, I expected someone to be in Ryan's apartment. Almost! Butnah.

Funniest line had to be where Ryan was talking about how Joe would rot in prison or whatever. Joe was on death row, did they somehow make him immune to death row for his crimes? I'd imagine he might get fast tracked now.

I'm in for episode 1 of season 3, but have no idea whether I'll be in for the second.

well inside the first 10 minutes they go to a location where a suspect may be with just the 3 of them(max, mike, ryan). it's at night and dark, no backup whatsoever, pretty much standard the following business

i actually had no idea this was even coming back but noticed it was on tonight and just decided to see what was up, and it's still the same

I wouldn't

You should watch first two seasons

Could you imagine if the cops acted this way on a show like The First 48? Everybody would be dead or unfound. I'm tampered with firing up season 2 a few times but I've stayed firm with cutting bait.

I continue to watch this show solely based on the premise Kevin Bacon has to keep doing it because Bernie Madoff stole all his loot.

It's just one big procedural gaffe after another. They don't even try harder each season.

Since there are no more reviews for this on the AVClub, and more because Sonia left and her reviews were incredible, I'm out on this one.

+1 to Madoff

At this point figure the writers of this show and the Blacklist have to be in on the joke about FBI incompetence.

Lol I thought the same thing re: dumbest FBI agents, ever.

Except Mike and Lizzy from The Blacklist. They take the mfing cake.

Sociopathic cult is on the loose for the third time and high level FBI agents are just casually strolling home, mid-day, after being phoned by their wife... sweet.

I hadn't caught up on this yet, but I've decided I'm cutting the cord. My wife says the show is now taking itself seriously. It was only worth watching when it was the best comedy on TV.
