Great set up episode for the finale. When I was watching how Greggson tried to push Watson away from Holmes, it made me compare the two characters in Sherlock and Elementary. Watson in Sherlock isn't particularly good at behavior analysis, but the Watson of Elementary is extremely adept at behavior analysis. They each have their reasons for staying, but the Watson of this show cares even less about Sherlock's issues (it could be debated that the Watson of Sherlock has poor risk aversion skills causing him to stay). She likes doing it (just like Watson of Sherlock), and she gets past the behavioral issues.

I'm really worried that Moriarty wanted the choice for Holmes to be choosing for Adler to live or die. Now that Holmes has found out that she's alive, Moriarty might kill her. That would be quite devastating for him, but sure would set him more off on the path we've seen in Sherlock. He did tell him that his choice was never crossing paths with him again, or apparently crossing paths with him permanently. Anyone recognize the actor's voice on the phone?

Sedeete, I can GUARANTEE you would love Person of Interest. Get on it, and start from the beginning. You won't regret it.

Good stuff. Never thought about the brain damage stuff till I checked this thread. But when I watched I thought it was weird that all the paintings were completely amateurish/school kid level, when Holmes said she was an 'exquisite' painter and worked restoring old masters.

Is that the end of the series then?

Great episode. The Tyrells are even more powerful than I thought

Moriargaery was awesome. Merging Moriarty and Irene Adler is basically genius.

Once she walked in on Sherlock in the hospital it was obv that he had faked the OD to trap her (obv writing is obv) but otherwise the ep through in a tonne of unpredictable surprises.

Watson providing the two big important breaks of the case - the paint and the later idea to let her think she had won - was a great bit of writing.

I really hope we see some more of her. Not regular with Sherlock visiting her in prison a lot and they saturate the idea, but there has to be some more like her trial needs to be an episode.

That sure was interesting. Really didn't expect it to be her since it was so different in Sherlock.

Great twist, did not see it coming. Even when sherlock noticed the missing mole and started accusing her of working for moriarty, I thought he was wrong and losing it.

guessing she escapes or released for next season

Natalie Dormer was great, I didn't see that coming at all. Thinking about it, she always had to be in on it as it would have taken a long time to collect enough of her blood to make it look like she was dead.

Had the episode ended with Holmes sitting in his hospital bed, defeated, after having od'd i think that would have been a pretty much perfect close to the season for me. I found the last 5 minutes a huge let down (apart from the bee stuff which was nice). I hate that they had him win in such a weak hurried way. Just no way the Moriarty we have been introduced to would fall for that.

It's possible the writers aren't 100% confident about being able to get her for more episodes next season and so had to wrap that storyline up quickly.

All in all tho i really enjoyed the episode and have been very happy with the quality and continued growth of this show. I had very little faith going into it, after loving Sherlock, that this was going to be anything other than a pale imitation.

Dormer was excellent as Moriarty. Also makes her seem even more attractive being a villain. Don't think she's ever looked as nice in any another appearance.

Disagree that we'll most likely never see her again. No way Holmes' nemesis makes an appearance and gets caught forever in one episode.

She was super hot as a villain.

Really enjoyed the EP and whole series. Only thing was when they deciphered the code from the dead henchman's phone as BN23macidoniansun or whatever then cut to a scene of Holmes racking his brain over a thousand postits with it written on. Wtf just google it!

I thought the 23rd ep sucked and was the only ep I didn't like all season. The 24th was awesome though and possibly the best. I don't think I like Moriarty equaling Irene, but it was a pretty cool twist that no one could have seen coming. Seeing Star Trek just makes me yearn for Sherlock that much more, but Elementary was a very solid watch in the meantime.

Sherlock is an extremely high bar to set but from a pretty rough start imo I thought Elementary settled into a rhythm that made it one of the best shows being broadcast right now.

Liked the episode. The M. twist was great and I didnt see it coming.

When he notices the mole I thought that Moriarty had it removed because he knew Sherlock would notice such a small tiny change on her body and it would drive him mad. I basically thought that from that moment on, he would discover more and more small things that would make him doubt in her/himself and doubt everything.

But yea, the actual reveal was pretty good too.

I spotted the fake OD pretty quickly, as it was quite obvious. Bit disapointing how easily they caught her, definitely felt rushed. I however enjoyed that they did catch her, and didnt turn this into an infinite manhunt (well, womanhunt) like the one we re suffering through in Mentalist.

I dont remember if this is getting a second season, but if it does Im really interested to see what they ll do with them. As Watson said, will he need a new nemesis? Maybe.

lol, thought the same. Quite ridic, especially since it s such a huge boat it would come up first in google research!

EDIT: actually in the 2nd season they could make quite a lot with Sherlock's dad. We havent seen him yet, so they can basically go in any direction there. Who knows.

lol I think if a show is on CBS, it will get renewed. I don't follow many shows on there, but it seems like most of their shows run for a long time.

I have to say having watched Sherlock I didn't give this much of a chance at first. Seemed like your typical attempt at capitalizing on a good foreign show but they managed to pull it off quite well and give it it's own identity. I never got the impression it was a rip-off.

Miller is great as Sherlock but he does look completely wired every episode. Since he's not supposed to be a former coke addict , it does seem to lend well to the notion his brain is constantly at work. Either that , or he's doing a few grams per filming of episodes.

Either way he's doing a great job.

Yeah, didn't mind the by-the-numbers ending because the rest was so good. Only way it could have been better is if they'd somehow gotten Cumberpatch to play Moriarty..

This.

I was never a Lucy Liu fan before this show but she has been excellent. Looking forward to season 2.

I really enjoyed the finale episodes. If it weren't for Hannibal, this easily would have been the best new network show of the season.

I absolutely loved the twist of Moriarty/Irene Adler being the same. They've really flipped the format on its head, and given it an outstanding separate identity from the impossible to compare Sherlock.

Hogan thinking everything gets renewed on CBS isn't accurate. It's very hard to get a season 2 on CBS (the most they ever renew of new dramas is two and that's kind of rare), due to extreme ratings expectations, but once you get renewed, your prospects for many seasons are very good. The were 4 new dramas on CBS, this season, Elementary, Vegas, Made in Jersey, and Golden Boy. The other three were canceled.

That would make it a pretty piss poor hiring decision then, no? She's not some random VOTW, she's THE Villain.

Fantastic twist. Props to Mrs Spartan. She called it about 45 minutes in.

Oh and you have to be living under a rock to not understand that network television almos always plans for multiple multiple seasons for hit shows and that Elementary is considered a hit show. Or am I a 48 year old dinosaur that remembers 3 channels and roof antennas?
