I really liked the Irene Adler episode in the Sherlock series

I thought that Irene Adler was killed, and that is what set Sherlock off in the drug tailspin?

We are told she was killed but the MO of M means that her death could have been faked. The more likely scenario is she will be shown in flashbacks only, but we will find out in 5 weeks either way

iirc, Vinnie Jones's character stated she wasn't dead and that Moriarty deceived Sherlock. We originally were lead to believe she was dead (because that's what Sherlock thought), but then after that episode with Jones the audience is meant to believe she's alive.

No, Morton said that he didnt kill her, he believed she had died and was killed by Moriarty to set him up.

Moriarty followed the MO of the fictional serial killer M when killing or appearing to kill her which would have included leaving a huge pool of blood where she was apparently killed.

Another great episode.

Between this, POI and Arrow there has been a lot of awesome episodes ending seasons in the past couple of weeks.

You are pretty much guaranteed to love POI if you like those two shows.

A fantastic episode, and JLM acting was great in the end.

So is she being held captive? I don't remember any of history of her disappearance.

looked more like she'd been lobotomised.

amazing ending to the last ep. That'd be really sad if she was dumbed down like that considering how much Sherlock loves her intellect. It's really odd she's just there in a house that seems abandoned, not trying to get out/just painting, and that she hasn't reached out to Sherlock like wtf? I guess Moriarty has her scared.

I initially tried watching POI when it first came out, watched 3-5 eps and thought it was meh. Then, a friend said it was a really good show, so I watched another 3 or so eps and still thought it was meh. I'd like to get into a show like that/want to like it, but it just hasn't grabbed me. Maybe I'll give it a third try based on the praise here.

My guess was she was heavily brainwashed.

Just watched the scene again and i think i misread her reaction on first viewing. She looks more startled than traumatised, which could just be the natural reaction to them creeping up on her. So ye brainwashing is a good fit.

Is next weeks episode 90 minutes long or is it 2 separate episodes released on the same day?

Really looking forward to it either way should be great.
