Last season was really the only big cliffhanger. 1 ends with killing Rudy, 2 with killing Lila, 3 with killing the Skinner/his wedding.

This finale was screwed from the start because people have last year's so fresh in their minds.

The first 35 minutes was great, after that meh.

They set up a lot for next season but nothing too juicy came out in the finale.

Yeah, why is everything resolved? **** that. At least kill Lumen.

man really hate how they went with the quinn story line, and the debra scene was awful @ camp

Probably because the show was not renewed for season 6 until this season was almost over..... I wonder if the writers need to plan for "what if this is the last season" I would hope they would have more clout or a better plan than that by now though.

Everything that happened in this ep was so obv beforehand but I still didn't hate it. I really really really wanted Deb to find them there with Chase and actually see their faces. It would have played out the same way but I guess would have hamstringed them going forward in future seasons.
We've got Quinn knowing damn well about Dex now and Dex knowing he knows so thats cool.

Heres to something good happening next season.. they can go any way they want with it now that Lumen's gone so thats cool too.

Really? Exactly what did they set up? There's no link between dexter and liddy now that Dexter cleared Quinn, who's obviously not going to say anything.

The random headchopping brother who survived is obviously not going to show up again.

Lumen is gone and wont be coming back.

The ONLY possible thing that I can think of is that one line by Deb at the end "You must be glad it's over too" or whatever, sort of hints she knows it was dexter and lumen behind the sheet.

oh and the Chase kill scene was awesome cmon

that's because you are like the common dexter fan these days, the thought process of which is:

123 all didn't have "big reveals" This is a standard textbook dexter finale. 4 deviated from the norm. After 4 everyone is expecting quinn to be in jail or deb to find out about dexter or lumen to die... that's just not how the show usually goes.

Dexter is a terrible driver. Jordan Chase is bad at keeping his captives under control. Liddy had a similar problem. Dexter has gotten sloppy but it's lucky for him his adversaries always make the extra mistake.

Arrest that man, he may have blood on his shoe. Astor still not winning any academy awards*. Finale was decent on the laughs per minute scale, I'll give it a B.

*probably because it's a TV show

Wow, I was expecting so much worse.

This season is pretty bad story wise compared to the rest, so much that is not fleshed out and not explained(like why does chase only watch, what was with emily, why did the group look like they were more controled by chase than wanting to do it themselves) and so much was set up badly(the brothers case, that lame spanish cop, the whole laguerta and batista not going anywhere) and so much stuff was handed badly(killing off liddy without anything happening from it, quinn looking like aw yeah i m free lets forget bout all, the whole scene with deb finding dexter)

its not that I don't want to watch it, its that theres no possible way i can watch it tonight and its tilting me not to know.

still kinda tilts me they aren't freaking out about trinity... especially Deb-- her and dexter are so close I would think every interaction between the two of them would be something about trinity...

do they just not do this because the audience knows that trinity is gone so they don't need to try to resolve it on the show since we know its resolved really?

I was really hoping they'd reveal that Dexter killed Luman, but at least Deb knows now and Quinn knows something.

Otherwise, kinda of a sh*tty finale.

This + the Quinn stuff.

Overall weak as **** season.

I think where they messed up this season was with the whole Quinn/Liddy debacle. They initially wanted to turn Quinn into Doakes v2, but they realized that had already been done/wanted to leave Deb's "lover" for her, so they introduced Liddy to play Doakes. I think in the last season its gonna involve Quinn and Deb finding out (obv) and that'll prolly be the fun part.

I really hope Season 6 is just him running away with Harrison to some other Coastal city and start over b/c right now its just getting too old and scripted and all the drama with the other characters/storylines is getting too emo for Dexter to be enjoyable anymore.
