Dexter: season 5 Dexter: season 5

from a friend of mine:

"RoboCop apparently brought his camera back from the future since no current camera could have taken those pictures at the end of the episode unless Dexter suddenly started dumping his bodies 100 feet off the shore. Didn't he start going way out to sea after the Bay Harbor Butcher incident? I guess this is more of him suddenly becoming the worst serial killer ever."

Guess it doesn't matter. It's just weird that the show considers so many details and takes them seriously, then just overlooks a lot of glaring stuff out of convenience. It seemed to me that in earlier seasons, there was consistency to which details were justified and which ones involved suspension of disbelief.
i totally agree with you privatejoker. I thought the same thing when i was watching it. like whoa there ****ed.

well what i was getting at is that the hotel was obv not a Motel 6 so it's not like you can just rent the room with a fake name and cash without it getting some serous attention. not even sure you can do it at all at some hotels...

i don't think the door was smashed though, only the jam.

As careful as Dexter is he could easily sign in under a false name. This would be sop for any run of the mill conman. The cameras are a bit more troubling, but could be explained away,

Liddy is about the only good thing about this season. The guy is an awesome actor and plays his character well. Loved the scene with him and Quinn in the apartment. Made Quinn look like a bitch.

I'm going to be super pissed if the writers go all predictable with a romantic relationship with Dexter and the ****** actress. If they do, I better at least see her naked. And if anything shady happens with the nanny, I will finger **** the show.

Looked at future episode's cast list. Cody makes an appearance and is probably going to kill it. Looks like they finally wrote Astor out of the show. thank you jesus.

glad i decided to watch it. best episode of the season.

This is what I assumed. Dexter is constantly using fake names when he does kills. I assume he has fake IDs, credit cards, etc.

I don't know why everyone is bitching about the episode and dexter at all, sure this show has some flaws, but it's still one of the best TV shows.

PS: Robocop took pictures showing Dexter+Lumen loading luggage into the boat, I think he suspects Dexter being some kind of drug smuggler rather than a serial killer.

We know that Trinity had at least one accomplice, his daughter Christine who shot Deb and killed Lundy. Anyone remember what Trinity said about Christine to Dexter? "She was weak." Meaning possibly that she couldn't 'TAKE IT'.

I also think trinity was too eager to get away and too smart to risk it. Chase bled Rita out copycat style.

My guess is that Trinity, who actually killed four not three, revealed after 30 years, possibly killed more outside of the series. I'm also going out on a limb and saying that Cole, Boyd and the 3 others teenagers (at the time) were photographed by Trinity on some kind of Religious Retreat where they were born in blood.

this. sounds like a legit theory actually.
11-15-2010 , 07:52 PM
It would blow my mind if that theory is true.

Chase and crew are also murderers so it's not like they're going to be helping the police in any type of investigation into security dudes disappearance, if they even report it at all. It also seemed like they were on to Dexter as possibly being the one who framed Boyd. My guess is that his disappearance gets swept under the rug.

Or how about banning him or something, we've agreed not to talk about the previews unless it's in spoiler tags. I refrained from watching the previews as I always do but now I won't be surprised by
Spoiler:
that neckless and possible Trinity connection, didn't read the rest of the post.

Someone said Stiles is gonna be in season 6, too. Is that confirmed info or just speculation? I mean, it's getting old to bitch about that bitch but... pls let it only be this season, I could live with that.

A good episode. If the photos were indeed only taken at the dock/shore, it'll make it totally ok. Still leaves the busted door though... Anyway, great development on Laguerta/Deb, hopefully something interesting comes off of that.

I don't see why people are hating on Julia Stiles so much. I prefer her to Rita any day. Rita was the worst thing to happen to Dexter and I'm glad she is gone.

I mean I don't hate on Lumen, I actually like her... but Rita>>>>>>>>>>>Lumen ainec, come on.
11-15-2010 , 09:42 PM
I just hated the emotional baggage that Rita's character brought into Dexter's life. Her story arc did nothing to enhance or compromise Dexter's predicament in his double life as a husband and a serial killer. At least with Lumen, her character is intertwined with Dexter's killing endeavors which makes her much more appealing.
11-15-2010 , 09:45 PM
ugh Rita was always the most annoying part of the show for me. Lumen I can deal with.

Watching this ep. now. Just realized that it's Sickboy who has kicked junk and his brogue to become a motivational speaker.
