i know its just hank was huge for the audience so was mike and gus. These nazis were pretty whatever for me

New game: Compete to find the single most jaw-droppingly wrong thing said in any web review of Felina.

My nomination:

The closing song is a little jarring. Aside from the opening lyric, it doesn’t really make a heck of a lot of sense.

Jimmy Kimmel said on Talking Bad that Walt came to the hideout to save Jesse. That's my nomination (if that counts)

Really good review on Grantland. Slightly critical. More or less agree with it.

Then mid-sentence he realized that didn't make any sense and changed it to "Maybe he saw Jesse then decided to save him." and Vince Gilligan said that was correct.

I'm going to try and be a weakass nit who can't see the art through the sometimes fanciful happenings in a TV show, too:

Ingesting ricin is not usually fatal. By ingestion, the pathology of ricin is largely restricted to the gastrointestinal tract where it may cause mucosal injuries; with appropriate treatment, most patients will make a full recovery.

...How'd I do?

Didn't they do more wrong to themselves than Walter ever did?
thats def all true however you need to consider the reason why they all betrayed him.
if that isn't massively apparent then you would do well to re-watch the series.

his constant lies and manipulations drove a wedge between everyone that ever cared for him or interacted with him to the point that by the end of the series literally every single person in his universe views him as a monster.

on an unrelated note, i started re-watching from the pilot and i'm thru the middle of season 2 and i forgot how amazing the scene was when he meets with gretchen in the restaurant.

god cranston earned everyone of his emmys and more.

oh and for those wondering, its def not too soon to start re-watching.

I think I have seen people mention the Felina = Blood, Sweat, and Tears, but as anyone mentioned the reference to the song "El Paso" by Marty Robbins, which I think Walt was humming in the show. Here's the lyrics:

"Out in the West Texas town of El Paso
I fell in love with a Mexican girl
Nighttime would find me in Rosa's cantina
Music would play and Felina would whirl

Blacker than night were the eyes of Felina
Wicked and evil while casting a spell
My love was deep for this Mexican maiden
I was in love but in vain, I could tell

One night a wild young cowboy came in
Wild as the West Texas wind
Dashing and daring, a drink he was sharing
With wicked Felina, the girl that I loved

So in anger I
Challenged his right for the love of this maiden
Down went his hand for the gun that he wore
My challenge was answered in less than a heartbeat
The handsome young stranger lay dead on the floor

Just for a moment I stood there in silence
Shocked by the foul evil deed I had done
Many thoughts raced through my mind as I stood there
I had but one chance and that was to run

Out through the back door of Rosa's I ran
Out where the horses were tied
I caught a good one, it looked like it could run
Up on its back and away I did ride

Just as fast as I
Could from the West Texas town of El Paso
Out to the badlands of New Mexico

Back in El Paso my life would be worthless
Everything's gone in life; nothing is left
It's been so long since I've seen the young maiden
My love is stronger than my fear of death

I saddled up and away I did go
Riding alone in the dark
Maybe tomorrow, a bullet may find me
Tonight nothing's worse than this pain in my heart

And at last here I
Am on the hill overlooking El Paso
I can see Rosa's cantina below
My love is strong and it pushes me onward
Down off the hill to Felina I go

Off to my right I see five mounted cowboys
Off to my left ride a dozen or more
Shouting and shooting, I can't let them catch me
I have to make it to Rosa's back door

Something is dreadfully wrong for I feel
A deep burning pain in my side
Though I am trying to stay in the saddle
I'm getting weary, unable to ride

But my love for
Felina is strong and I rise where I've fallen
Though I am weary I can't stop to rest
I see the white puff of smoke from the rifle
I feel the bullet go deep in my chest

From out of nowhere Felina has found me
Kissing my cheek as she kneels by my side
Cradled by two loving arms that I'll die for
One little kiss and Felina, goodbye"

Seems to be a good parallel to BB. Walt falls in love with cooking meth (Felina) and duels Gus. Then he is forced out of town. He comes back and gets shot in the side. But has enough strength left to die with his love Felina (cooking equipment).

The intimidation scene with Walt, Gretchen and Elliot with Badger and Skinny Pete scaring them with laser pointers was probably one of my favourite scenes in the entire series. The music score was brilliant, combined with the night time backdrop created a really dark and eery situation.

When it was revealed who the two "best hitmen west of the Mississippi" really were, I started laughing my ass off. When I further realized they didn't even have guns, but had pen laser pointers instead, I started cackling uncontrollably. Amazingly well written and directed scene.

Too many players arguing whether "being dead" implies "no longer working for the DEA"

Note to all: I may do a similar contest for next months on various events that could happen for real. Similar to ex-intrade but for fun.

At first I was like ''HOLY **** GOAT'', then I was like ''Ridiculous, no way you can get the two greatest hitmen for 100k a piece, who would stay around to watch Gretchen and Elliott for a while to come and wouldn't just steal the 9 million on the spot'' and ultimately I was like ''Oh Vince Gilligan, you did it again''.

If Walt did that to you would and you were 99% sure he was BSing would you still risk not giving his family the money?

Especially after all of his Heisenberg accomplishments come to light.
