Well it was clearly ambiguous within the parameters of the show. His intentions may not have been ambiguous but that's another concept.

I didn't think it was ambiguous at all, and I'd guess you have a very tough time finding many people who think Walt was anything except dead/dying VERY SOON(not from cancer).

- he rescues jessie
- he gives jessie the opportunity, either directly or indirectly(handing him a gun to help fight nazis) to kill him. They def make it obvious that walt knows jessie has that power if its indirect. I can also envision a direct way at the end of walt giving him a pistol and like getting down on knees, and jessie just drops gun and walks away or something(obviously crying or completely in shock of everything).
- Jessie doesnt kill walt and instead just wants to get out with some money and get brock and his mother(name slips me).

- Walt may kill himself at end, depends on status of skylar/jr/holly

Note: The prediction was made before brocks mother got offed obv.

Yeah, not ambiguous at all.

Great episode. Tons of call- back Breaking Bad moments.

Loved the way they set up the scene w/ Gretchen and Elliott and the "You're gonna need a bigger knife" line was awesome. Walt giving them his money was totally unexpected and totally made sense a something the show has managed to do repeatedly.

Loved that he made space for one more Badger/SkinnyPete sighting.

The ricin in the coffee was a little over-telegraphed but a great way for Lydia to go - poisoned by her ****ing Stevia.

Loved that we got one more great Walt science scheme with the robotic M60 tied to the garage door opener.

All the nazis dying was also fully expected, but satisfying. Liked that he head-shotted Jack in mid-sentence, just like Jack had done to Hank.

Walt dying in the lab was perfect.

Also liked that Jessie got away. Woulda stood up and cheered if in the relief/joy Jessie showed while driving away we got one more "Bitch!" But I guess that wouldn't have fit with the new free Jessie.

About the only unsatisfying thing was the ending for Walt Jr. Seems fully unresolved. Feed that boy some breakfast.

I mean. He got shot. He stumbled around for a while. Showed us his wound. Stumbled into the lab. And then fell onto the ground face up not moving.

That's not very ambiguous. Short of them literally showing him not breathing or having him hooked up to a heart monitor I'm not sure what they can do.

The show runner says he's dead, but it's all up to perception.

I guess I'm a sh*tty viewer, because I didn't see it that way initially. Thank you for pointing this out

lol wtf? Being shot in the head would do it. A funeral during the credits would do it. Police coming and someone checking his pulse and us hearing one say to the other "he's dead" would do it. I could list 20 more. Maybe any of those things would lessen the quality or outright change the finale, but that is not relevant to my point.

I mean I believe he's dead and as I said if he isn't it probably doesn't matter anyway, but Gilligan clearly could have done many simple things for us to know for sure he's dead, and he chose not to. Maybe it was intentional on his part, maybe not. But them be the facts.

Wow lots of posts... for now until I catch up I have to say, my first thought when Gretchen & Elliot were on screen was about the TV Pros itt who guaranteed they'd never been seen or heard from again. Obviously what theses pros meant what that they'd never be seen or heard from again until the first :10 of the next episode.

As I said already....

Gilligan literally spoke about how he didn't want to leave it ambiguous. He talked about how the Sopranos ended and didn't want the audience to have any doubt as to how Walt ended up. You can keep trying to find something that's not there or you can just listen to the guy who wrote/directed the episode tell you that the exact opposite of what you think is correct. He addressed this EXACT thing probably no more than 10 minutes after the episode after Chris Hardwick commented on how it was so awesome how he made it 100% clear and it wasn't ambiguous like the Sopranos.

Liked the Episode. Would`ve wished he would`ve talked in a more aggressive way to Lydia on the phone, something along the lines "Did you really think you could take me out?" that would`ve been more Heisenbergesque.

Overall I feel like Game of Thrones has set really high standards. I need a big cast so I know people can get whacked, so I`m scared for them.

Also a little bit of fun:

Google "Michael Bowen" (Actor of Jack) and look at pictures:

If he were still breathing/alive, the cops wouldn't have just passed over him the way that they did. They treated him like a corpse.
