Tuco was awesome. Everytime I see him though I thought of him as the soldier in Clear and Present Danger.

I'm finally up to date on this show (cranked out season 1 and eps 1-3) and ready for the new episode on Sunday.

If someone has found these episodes online, please PM me. I love this show from the few I've seen and want to watch the whole first season.

75% of the way through the episode and jesus christ, Skylar seems like such a bitch.

He showed some serious balls by sticking to his no cell phone line. Great ep. And yeah, she is becoming very hatable.

That whole long-winded, "You know, I figured it out...it was my alarm" speech was pretty absurd. He would have looked much more credible if he just kept quiet, acted normal, and got kinda pissed if she ever asked about it again ("I don't know, I had some kind of reaction to my medications, I was blacked out, WTF do you want from me.") The acceptable time frame for the alarm explanation expired about 30 seconds after she first asked about the phone ringing.

His wife was certainly being a huge bitch, but he played the situation really horribly. It's kind of weird how they show him to be at least semi-competent at dealing meth and thinking on his feet in that context, but make him horribly inept at dealing with his wife's vague suspicions.

Yeah the alarm thing was horrible. Even if she knows the phone thing is a lie though, she seems really willing to cut and run on this without a second thought which is kinda pathetic in this situation and makes her really easy to dislike. But I guess stuff like that is how it goes in a drama.

My take on it is that she just is trying to manipulate him into making some sort of confession, and she's too dumb/crazy to realize that the fact Walt has terminal cancer and will be dead soon trumps whatever control freak issues she has.

Yeah at first I thought that too, but the whole scene with the cigarette just makes me think she is just going bat**** insane for whatever reason on top of trying to guilt him into coming clean.

if the writers were trying to make me hope that skylar ***** asap (but the baby lives ldo) this week, they did a hell of a job!

cigarette scene was excellent imo

I have some sympathy for her - she knows he's dying, and her final memories are of him acting insanely shady about something or another? It's not like this whols situation is something that you might expect to easily stay sane throughout.

BTW that scene where it seemed like he miiiight actually confess was intense.

I don't really ever get angry at TV characters, but Skyler's passive-aggressive attitude to get Walt to confess was really pissing me off. It reminded me of an ex who would always make that play trying to get me to talk.

I think it's so good because it is exactly what 90% of women do in similar situations.

I've watched it 2x already

Aaron Paul turns in one of the greatest acting performances ever in this episode, IMO. He character is an emotional mess throughout "Down" from the issues coming at him at all angles. An A+++ performance, he amazed in this.

I think Aaron Paul is one of the reasons I like the show so much. I see a lot of my older brother in Jesse Pinkman. It's earily similar to how he acts and tries to play the victim after drugs have pretty much made his life a wreck. I've had to go through the emotions of having him live with me while he's on probation, then have to kick him out when I found out he was dealing heroin out of my place. You see the guy owning the world one minute having more money than you can spend, then all the sudden he's homeless and friendless.

Skylar was so annoying with her whining this episode, that i wouldn't be too upset if she and the baby died in some accident.

The reality of the way he acts, and with his parents, and the way they act (by the way, his mother on the show is an amazing actress as well), I felt like I was really watching a family that was having a crisis. The way they react and talk, like you said, the way he blames others, is just so accurate. I would imagine it would be almost hard to watch this show, this episode, if you knew someone who was like Jesse, because he nails it so well.

Possibly stupid question: how did Jesse get the keys to the RV? I can't believe he kept them on him when the brother's friend towed it (wouldn't they need the keys?) and I can't believe the tow yard just keeps the keys to all the vehicles sitting in their respective ignitions.

Dunno, but my first guess would be that he had a spare set of keys.

Or he's got mad mobile-home hotwiring skills.

actually thought he was gonna tell her he was a drug dealer for a second there. I really think Skylar is behaving like most wives would.
