I also wonder what the purpose of killing a little old lady was for the death bros.

After watching this intro, this raises questions for me after watching the ending when we learn that DEA agents are off limits to the bros. Yet it's okay to axe a cop? Is it because the DEA are a bigger threat to the business than police? I'd think that killing police, especially without consulting their cartel boss, would cause problems in the future at some point not so much different than killing a DEA agent.

Good ep, although I anticipated some form of diversion for Hank in the RV situation, it was still suspenseful. Also the coffee scene and "why are we making meth" got me a chuckle.

I think killing a cop that's about to arrest you for murder is a little different than hunting down a DEA agent for revenge and murdering him.

Walt's car was in the middle of the tow truck place. No concern over that?

And I didn't like how they watched it being destroyed.

I didn't catch the reason lab assistant turned to crime. Was it money or was he convicted to something?

The car wasn't where the RV was when Hank found it.

I've been waiting for today's episode all season, loved it. Things are developing so nicely.

Maybe she was the little old lady with the van from the previous episode?
04-26-2010 , 03:26 AM
didnt get how the beginning tied into the story line. just more gratuitous violence and displaying the cousins evil nature?

hank figured out walt is tied into this at the hospital.

black guy put assistant there to learn hanks method before hank gets offed. pretty obv.

I see what you mean; going about it is different, but still, the repercussions are still the same. You got a dead government agent on your hands that will haunt you in the future.

The cop did radio for backup, so the bros would have to work quickly to get rid of any evidence of themselves, causing more trouble for them.

You mean Kombo's mom with the RV? I went back and looked at the end of the previous ep, her last name is Ortega. The old lady in this episode is named Pekatina(?) Oh and using my common sense yea, there would be no reason for Kombo's mom be to living out in the middle of nowhere.

The only reason it seems, is that the death bros are using the old lady's place to hideout.

Think he means the old lady with the disabled van (which could hold a wheelchair) which the twins stole from her a few eps ago.

Walt asked the owner of the lot if he cold call him a cab.

Victor, interesting point about Hank figuring out at the hospital that Walt is involved. That didn't occur to me, but I think you might be right.

He drove the RV from the garage to the scrapyard so his car wasn't there (I'd had the same thought).

RE: Lab assistant, I think he wasn't able to keep a job in research or something? It wasn't that well explained considering they had the main character ask the question directly.

Ya, it was kept a bit vague but im sure it will be explained in future eps.

Also, they point where they were talking about science being like "magic" -- ****ing magnets how do they work???

He mentions as a Libertarian he thinks drugs should be availble to those who want them, that he'd like them to be pure rather than have adulterants, and he didn't like dealing with the politics of school while going for his Ph.D, IIRC. He recites the poem:

When I heard the learn'd astronomer,
When the proofs, the figures, were ranged in columns before me,
When I was shown the charts and diagrams, to add, divide,
and measure them,
When I sitting heard the astronomer where he lectured with
much applause in the lecture-room,
How soon unaccountable I became tired and sick,
Till rising and gliding out I wander'd off by myself,
In the mystical moist night-air, and from time to time,
Look'd up in perfect silence at the stars.

which fits with him wanting to be in a lab. He also went to the University of Colorado, so he probably smokes weed.

yeah walt and jessie chiilin at the car crushing scene was silly

Spoiler:
"BITCH"

Too good. I like Hank, he doesn't deserve to die. However, I don't see any way he doesn't. Maybe the writers will surprise me.

I don't think so. My best guess is that they just wanted a place out in the middle of nowhere (possibly close to the border?) to stay at, and the old lady was just wrong place, wrong time.
04-26-2010 , 06:54 AM
Walt's solution for getting Hank to drive off was awesome.

Hank has had a blind spot during this investigation from the beginning. He knows its there, but he can't wrap his head around the part of the puzzle he's missing. I think it is more likely that Hank will figure Jesse for a powerful criminal who had information on his local DEA agent beforehand, and knew what Hank's cell phone number was, and his wife's name.

awesome episode.

anyone else thought during the episode when Walt explained everything to his new partner and then Gus saying "Sunset", that he might cut off Walt?

Anyways, great episode, I dont think Hank will die, he is a DEA agent ffs. I think this puts an end to the cousins, I mean they killed a cop already, there have to be traces at the house.
