Discharging static electricity by touching a grounded conductor.

Saul touches the top of a ground rod before entering the house, and you can see a spark. Most houses have one or more ground rods, usually outside near the electric meter. Chuck's is oddly placed near the door.

Notice that Chuck has also removed all the circuit breakers from their panels.

Love the feel of the show so far. Wish I would have waited and been able to marathon it.

I don't know how you could see it being anything but EHS. The guy is living in the dark, removed everything electric from his house and threw Sauls phone out the front door with a pair of tongs.

Also, +1 to the thisisawesome camp. I can't believe how compelling the show is already.

But didn't you notice that Saul has his office in the nail salon he tries to get Walt or Jesse to buy in season 3, episode 5, act 2, scene 4, verse 8-11? That was awesome.

Was that Walter White's house he drove by and might be in the frame for a billisecond? I'm gonna rewind and go frame by frame, screen cap it, then go through my deluxe box set of BB frame by frame and compare until I can confirm.

Holy ****. Like these are the worst parts of what might be a good show, creaming over every miniscule reference to the original show that's only been done for like a year or w/e, fer christ's sakes.

Fargo was a very good show but people were still ****ting themselves when they spotted a "DLR" license plate in like the second to last episode, ffs. Those continual references to the original modern classic movie were the WORST parts of the series. We get it, we're in the same setting/milieu/wutever. Don't need every single goddamn thing from the movie brought back and thrust in our face. It's called Fargo... I'm guessing it has something to do with the movie in one way or another. (Actually making a subplot about the lost snow-buried money from the original movie was just too much, c'mon.)

So, Better Call Saul was best, after seeing the first episode, when it had nothing to do with BB, other than we already know the setting and who the main dude is, and we can jump right in with him. Yah, it's obv gotta come back to BB at some point but, jfc, we've already got Tuco as a main guy?

In the world of TV spin-offs even hopeless stinkers like Joanie Loves Chachi and AfterMASH weren't pathetic enough to make constant lazy references to their originals as egregiously as this.

Otherwise, I like it. hehe.

You seemed to be channeling Tuco there.

This show is already showing signs of becoming something truly incredible. The first half hour was beyond outstanding. Can't wait for the next one.

For BB fans, was the guy who interrupted Tuco the same guy who got killed at the end of season 1 for interrupting Tuco (or making suggestions, whatever happened that caused him to get beaten to death)?

If I was unaware of BB, I'd love to watch this through, then binge bomb BB after. How ****ing fun would that be not knowing anything?

Is this a prequel to BB? I haven't seen BB yet but have been planning to binge watch it (I agree with previous advice I should watch it now as I can't believe I haven't seen it yet either and it has been at the top of my list for awhile), however, is there any chance I should wait and watch this season of Better call Saul first, or is BB a prerequisite to get the most out of this show?

Yes.

However, the first scene of the first episode took place after BB.

Looks like it will be mostly a prequel, but there's probably going to be more post-BB scenes too.

So far, there is nothing in the show that would be a major spoiler or anything like that for BB.

Run don't walk to see BB. 95% of the posters here would probably say it's a top 5 show of all time. Then watch BCS which is showing a ton of promise thru 2 episodes but has many BB references that you would miss if watching it 1st.

Yep. And the fat dude was the one who was caught under the truck that bled out.

Yeah, I for sure recognized the fat guy, but wanted to make sure about the other guy. That's fun "foreshadowing" for the audience. He's always been a problem...lol. The most interesting thing is that Tuco was much more controlled before he got caught up in meth addiction.

I didn't get the cinnabon reference (i guess not ever having heard of cinnabon before didn't help). First half hour I did get my phone out, little bit bored, wasn't that into it.

After first half hour didn't take eyes off screen again through to end of ep 2. Great stuff. Im in for the series.

I actually thought episode 1 was better than episode 2. i wonder if we will get any appearances from Bill Burr. He looks so much older now compared to his first appearance on breaking bad that I wonder if it would work. I guess the makeup team could figure it out.

I'm kind of thinking the same thing. Much like we are all picking through BCS finding BB references, it might be fun to do the opposite.

Interested to see where Chuck's character goes, he's the weak link for me so far.

Just a guess but he is probably designed to be, so that Jimmy/Saul can get over on the head of that law firm and make it a better moment. Plus they need him kind of pathetic such that he needs Jimmy's help, who is kind of a screw up at this point.

The show has been much better than I expected. The first 1/2 hour of episode 2 was fun stuff. I can't wait to see how the robbing of the guy that extorted funds goes. That caper should be fun to watch.

Upon hearing that they were going to do a spin-off called Better Call Saul two years ago, I did not have high hoes. I changed my expectations immediately after that opening scene. It was so beautifully shot, and I must have forgotten about just how well Breaking Bad looked to the eyes. The first two episodes were absolutely great, and almost had a Pulp Fiction style vibe to them. I'm sure the long storyline will be interesting, but I could watch this show just purely for the 1-3 episode arcs of Jimmy McGill misadventures.
