Are the videos done separately, by different writers or Judge himself, and then just shoehorned into episodes? Or are they actually done together with the story itself? The videos in the first episode I also thought were much better, but that might just be coincidence.

Yeah the videos are done separately from the stories and shoehorned in to episodes. The joke sessions for those were done by Judge, Altschuler, Krinsky and whatever other writers were available to come in on a given day. It was usually myself and my partner, Howard Kremer and his writing partner Chip Pope. There were a few others who rotated in here and there.

Basically, we'd all watch a video or episode of Jersey Shore or whatever and pitch jokes for Beavis and Butthead to say. We'd watch any given clip as many as five or six times. Once Mike got enough material to work with, he'd go into the booth and record the dialogue, often improvising a lot on top of whatever we had pitched.

Sorry if it was mentioned in the thread. Fsoyars, do you know if there was any discussion on updating the animation? Or did they always want to keep it true to the original?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by updating the animation, but I know very little about that side of the process anyway.

My wife was giving me the "I can't believe you are watching this" look, and then she busted out laughing at this line. Best line of the show, imo.

So happy this show is back, and it's as funny as I remember it back in the good old days.

One thing I'm worried about is how they're going to do the music video segments. I like the idea of spoofing MTV shows, but there are only so many shows you can make fun of...

I could've sworn I heard Beavis use the word "denizen" at one point. They've definitely grown up

The werewolves one was amazing. The crying one was pretty dumb but it still made me laugh a bunch. I was shocked at how it didn't seem at all different. Pretty remarkable after all these years. Look forward to watching more and more eps.

Loved the 1st part of the episode. Twilight/wearwolves/music vids. Most of the funny quotes have been mentioned. Crying part was dumb but thought the ep was great.

"Yeah, it's cause a record is round and so are pizzas. I get it. It's not funny but I get it."

I loved their disgust at people allowing a child to be scared to death and possibly scarred for life to film a music video.
