No. There was a slight improvement last episode. No reason to think they've gotten it all figured out yet.

It's gotten better the last few episodes, they've been watchable. But the characters are still really uneven with nobody really particularly noteworthy or likeable. And the ties to the Marvel Universe are really tenuous - It might as well be a standalone series. Except nowhere near as good as something like Strike Back or X-Files.

If Grant is The Punisher, that's a total payoff for his woodenness.

i just watched the first three episodes. this show sucks. i love buffy more than anything. doctor horrible and firefly were amazingly good. i even liked angel. but i don't think joss has much to do with this show.

i don't get all the hate on the hot young girl. she is great. she delivers all her joke lines funny. in the pilot i lol'd when she said "they're coming for you" but she said it all smiley and happily. i'm sure that was joss's direction, but she delivered. she is talented.

the young warrior guy is terrible. he has no business being on screen. same goes for the asian pilot girl super soldier.

fitz and simmons are ok. at least they are characters, and not card board cut outs.

3rd episode: "The Asset"

i just caught up to last week's episode with the alien helmet. i agree with a lot of others. that was the best episode. i cried. i like fitz/simmons. i like the main girl. everyone else on the show sucks though.

it seems like the asian woman is intentionally trying to be as unlikable/uninteresting as possible. wtf. she is just terrible. she is worse than kennedy on season 7 of buffy.

It was less references than the episode simply being a mix of Ariel and War Stories.

if all they did was remake firefly episodes it would still be one of the better shows on tv right now

Oddly how the science nerds were the most annoying cookie cutter characters are now the most emotionally engaging ones. I have a crush on Simmons.
