Excited right now. I'm sure disappointment will follow soon.

Usually around ep 6 - 8 and once again at 20 - 24 when they pull some bull****.

Last season was meh, but it was miles better than 6. They surprised me quite a bit my actually making the Tony storyline make sense at the end.

Can someone recap last season? After taking a few years break from 24 I decided to watch last season completely. I was into it at first but after after about 5 or 6 episodes lost all interest and couldn't watch anymore.

at least '24' is no where near as bad as 'Heroes'

Heroes=epic fail

I agree, heros is the only show I've gotten into and then quit due to teh suck. I even stuck with Alias to the bitter end.

From what I can recall
Spoiler:

Tony is alive and kicking, and was suspected to be involved in the latest terror plot, but he claimed he was working undercover along with Bill and Chloe to uncover the perpetrators because they feel no one in the government/authorities can be trusted. No CTU, it was shut down after it went over the line too many times in suspect interrogations and the FBI took over on anti-terrorism cases.

[throw in usual uncover-the-mole subplot here]

[a bunch of stuff in between]

Ultimately though, Tony's motivation was to take revenge on the people who blew his wife up and he cooked up an elaborate plot to get into a terror cell without any thought of the consequences. Renee Walker becomes Jack Bauer clone plus sidekick during the course of the 24 hours. Sets up for some hawtness in season 8.

It's pretty obvious I missed a boatload of crap, so feel free to fill in the details.

Plot Line Into:

Set 8 months after season 7, season 8 begins and ends at 4:00 PM, unfolding in New York City amidst the shadows of the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations where CTU has been upgraded and is run by the MBA-schooled Brian Hastings (Mykelti Williamson).[27] Cole Ortiz (Freddie Prinze Jr.), a former Marine who wants to follow in Jack Bauer’s footsteps, runs the division’s Field Operations. Expert data analyst Dana Walsh (Katee Sackhoff) collaborates with systems analyst & drone pilot Arlo Glass inside CTU's New York branch. Rob Weiss serves as President Allison Taylor’s new Chief of Staff, and Meredith Reed is an ambitious journalist with ties to the unfolding situation. Jack Bauer is simply a man who wants to move on with his life and be with his daughter and granddaughter, but plans come to a halt when, once again, America needs his help.

I bet the bad guy will be captured but be part of a bigger conspiracy and they catch that person and he is part of a bigger one and Jack tortures him to uncover a larger conspiracy and Jack goes undercover, finds out the Secretary of State is involved... brings him in but a sniper takes out the SOS... and that sniper is Kim.

this is the last season of 24, you guys have to watch it no matter how bad it sucked previous seasons. The end of 24 is an end of an era of terrorists getting their ass killed.
