he is going to play the wjc (in canada) most likely, then return and play out the season in traktor which could end in February. after that, he needs to be in America to sign anything, and will probably join Hershey like Orlov did last season. of course, depending on his season, he might be joining the national team camp for the WC, and that's back in Russia.

i am reading the interview with him now. interesting stuff about his shoulder injury. apparently, he would have made the WC team last year if he chose to wait with the surgery, but doctors made him have it right away. less than a month left in his rehab.

no, khl uses international ice, althrough there's a team rumored to be building a new nhl-size rink. it's a terrible decision for many reasons.

kuznetsov played a full game in the KHL preseason. no points, and he said he's still getting upto speed, but the good news is he is skating to full contact. it's unlikely he'll see the first line in a little while, but he should be a top-6 forward a few weeks into the season.

OT question for any hockey players here:

Do you guys know of any good hockey gear stores in the DC metro area? There doesn't seem to be much around. Through google I found a small place in Waldorf, one in Bowie, and then the Kettler pro shop (no idea what their prices are, but I'd expect them to be high).

Should I just stick to ordering online? I'm in the market for everything except skates.

I would check out local playitagain stores. those closer to rinks usually carry gear. also, once you know what sizes fit you for a particular brand, it's completely safe to order online.

yeah, he's a winger right now, but it's sort of weird how they determine that on the big ice. he's not great at faceoffs, but he is a great skater. might be why he's compared to malkin so often. he played center for the junior national team and did very well. my guess is the caps will at least try him there.
