What they accomplished last year + 13 returning starters including their QB + game is at Navy = ND is ****ed.

I'm not an ND hater, my posts in this thread should indicate that, I'm just saying Navy is a better team than ND or Michigan. I don't think that's a controversial statement. Also, as you know, I bet the max on Bodog, on the ND under 8. I haven't seen a free money bet like that in a long time. If I had any balls I would fly to Vegas and find a way to put $10K on that.

Although, I must say, if I were a ND fan, I would never ever bet the under. Not even the puny $575 max on bodog. It would ruin the season for me.

Anyways, I guess this year I'm gonna be a hater in one sense. I'll be rooting hard for ND to lose every week. I'm already jacked up for ND vs Purdue. (If ND drops that game then my bet is pretty much already locked in). But normally I only root against ND for one game a year.

Historically no ND team worth the paper the tickets are printed on has lost to Purdue in my memory. Davie's first year in 97 might be the last time when the team got better the 2nd half of the year after a bad loss to Purdue.
However this year could be a similar exception because we are so new and the 2nd half of the schedule looks easier.

You do realize that returning 13 starters is not a big number in college football, correct? I would not be putting "13 returning starters" in the plus column. I really wouldn't be doing it for schools like Navy who don't exactly reload every year and often have to rely on team chemistry to overcome a talent deficit.

It's not just that. It's the fact that ND has to retool their OL and break in a new QB (which I know has been groomed but that's still a big negative), and the fact that Navy is fine in both areas, and specifically their senior QB may go down in history as the #2 best QB that Navy has ever had. The guy's a beast. ND has their hands full to say the least. If the spread is ND by 5, I'm definitely betting on Navy.

I don't know what others here think, but I think ND's schedule is pretty brutal which is why if ND drops their opener to Purdue (the softest spot outside ND's 3 auto-wins), then I'm gonna be convinced my bet is locked in. But of course *you never know*.

Okay, so some people just don't get how good Navy is, they scare the heck out of me, but Notre Dame is bigger, faster, stronger, and more athletic all over the field and the ND regime that has been getting out-coached is fired.

If I have to place a bet before I've seen either team play a game, my money is on this side every single time.

If I have it my way, I will not bet the spread. I would bet on Navy straight up. This is a rebuilding year for ND. That's not the case for Navy. Basically, if you're a Navy fan the mantra should be, "We should beat ND this year and we better do that, because with BK at the helm and our awesome QB graduating this year, we probably won't have another chance for a VERY long time."

I don't take sports betting seriously like I do with poker. It's what I do for fun. I consider every bet I have ever made and will make to be completely irrational. I have talked about my brutal sports betting record in the Michigan thread more than once. So yeah I'll tell you want I think, with sincere conviction. Like I'll say right now that betting on Utah to beat the spread vs Pitt Thursday night is a lock, and I really believe that, but I don't think anyone should take what I say seriously. I don't even take what I say seriously on this stuff. I know I'm a sports betting fish and I'm ok with that but that's certainly not gonna stop me from pontificating on these extremely important matters. No true fish would do otherwise.
