I have no idea how that is controversial. Denard more effective as a QB who couldn't throw at all than devin did v OSU

The truth is, the sad times (2008-10) are over.

When people have to pull out academics in the football thread to defend Michigan, it is still sad times.

Devin is a better passer so he obv has a better chance to progress, still lol to think Borges can utilize Devins complete skill set.

What if we lost to Northwestern, then could we have this discussion?

Our offense next year will be heavy in play action, bootlegs, etc. You could already see it in the Iowa, Minnesota, and NW games. Gardner doesn't have Denard's breakaway speed, but he's elusive in the pocket, so keeping the defense off-balance will be key next year.

Kalis, Magnusson, and Miller should be able to step in on the o-line. We are loaded with young talent. Losing Lewan would hurt, but FWIW he recently said in an interview "obviously we didn't accomplish our goals in winning the big ten, but there's always next year".

Fitz, Rawls, and Hayes/Norfleet will be a 3-headed monster. I doubt all 4 will get significant playing time (Hayes and Norfleet are pretty much the same). We are deep at RB. My biggest concern would be who to throw the ball to. I expect The Funch to play a big part in the passing game next year.

Broke one run when he got a fluke double-tackle that cancelled each other out. LOL Denard. Gonna miss the early Heisman hype followed by the drop off the planet once he plays any real defense. Good luck to him in the CFL.

We had a polarized schedule. It was either softies that we handled or losing to the 3 best teams in the country.

I don't really count the Nebraska game as a true evaluation of our team thanks Bellomy, but they're in the top 15 as well.

Lewan coming back would be so stupid but so awesome.

Also, LOLHIP for including B1G champ trying to talk that title up

even if you don't include them winning the Big 10 title, winning in Lincoln isn't exactly like winning in Minneapolis or West Lafayette.

@ Purdue

vs Lil Bro
@ Minnesota

Gotta take the good with the bad. No way we can have the hardest schedule in the nation when you look at those 8 games. The hardest schedule in the nation has to come from one of the SEC teams. We beat the teams we were supposed to beat, but couldn't close out anyone good.

LOL Notre Dame second best team in the nation.

LOL Nebraska, Ohio State being tough.

My guess is every team in the SEC played a harder schedule than you and every Big XII team.

Who will the biggest fanboi be when we line up in September 2014? Gonna have to be a RR holdout, I'm thinking Jake Ryan.

BTW, there's no way Denard beats OSU.

Even if you cancel out the long run and limit to 15-20 yards denard was more effective. It's not really close either.

devin may be a better passer than denard, but they aren't close because denard allows us to actually have a running game. Even if you excise Denards long run we averaged more per play than we did with devin. Ainec

i understand about not getting mad at kids. kids making choices that are going to affect the rest of their lives. i teach these aged kids, and trust me, it's tough.

that said, **** anyone that commits to michigan then signs with ohio and vice versa. you're gonna start making relationships with coaches at one school that's involved in the biggest (at least top 3) rivalry in college sports, make friends with other recruits, assumingly talk about beating that team's rival down the road........then decommit and go to the other school?

yikes.

let's exclude kyle kalis. understandably the ohio fans are gonna disagree but tressel getting yoinked for being a cheater and not knowing what the penalties for uncle jimmay cheating are gonna be is a big deal.

anyone else that flips from one to the other for any reason has something going on bigger than michigan/ohio football.

so i'll say it: **** david dawson and **** gareon conley. i don't wish injury on them, but i'll certainly use up some karma to say that i hope they don't pan out and are left peddling car insurance in massillon ohio the rest of their lives.
