I just saw the title ESPN, but KC Joyner thinks LSU could be better next year.

The top 18 rule applies if there aren't enough teams in the top 14. It's how Illinois snuck in to get crushed by USC a few years back. In your example, Boise would have to get in before Michigan was eligible (unless Michigan snuck in the top 14). Also, if Baylor made it above Michigan, it wouldn't matter since they wouldn't be eligible.

If you are in 15th, you would need a total of 5 extra SEC, BXII, or Pac-12 teams (and root for VT to win the ACC).

There likely will be 3 in there with Georgia, Arkansas, and USCe (doesn't matter if they finish ahead of you if you can get extra). P-12 gets an extra if UCLA upsets Oregon. If Baylor sneaks ahead of you, that gives you 4.

If Georgia upsets LSU, it hurts you a lot since you could get 3 SEC teams in then.

I think you guys need to get to 14 or that's it. Otherwise we are stuck with Boise vs. Houston.

Now that maintains the Harbaugh > Hoke preference BUT WHY IS BRADY HOKE IN THIS CONVERSATION AT ALL

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD

Like that is such Michigan incestuousness, if Brady Hoke was anyone else in the country, ie, a guy who didn't have a pedigree as a former assistant, like there's no way he's a candidate with his resume. I don't get it.

What UM cares about is their ranking relative to the only B10 team that can get the bid over them, Wisconsin.
Dude, you expressed yourself very poorly right after making a dumb claim 'MSU needs to win for Michigan BCS', which led to mocking.

**** that.

And if a BCS bid does in fact include a high % chance that M gets matched up with Houston, I'll pass regardless.

Yep. BCS bid doesn't mean that much to me. If it had conference/national championship implications, I'd cheer for them without question.

I will support Coach Hoke and the team and sincerely hope he does well. He is, however, entering what is likely a situation in which he cannot succeed.

Mr. Brandon, you're a complete ****ing mess and you have egg on your face. Way to take something that had the extreme likelihood of being good and the potential of being great and change it into something that is very likely doomed to failure.

Dunn saying he doesn't want to play in a spread but did say he'll talk to Urban before deciding anything

Really cute how Ohio fans seem to think we're all shaking in our boots about Urban. Never thought I'd be in a situation where I'd have enough faith in Hoke to not care about OSU hiring Meyer, but here we are.

Daniel Mullen doesn't frighten me. It looks like Manny Diaz made that team go last year.

Good point, begs the question to what extent Urban was actually the brains behind the operations at Florida. Tebow leaving was a huge part of course, but it also doesn't seem like any coincidence that UF fell off when Strong and Mullen left.

I am scared of the Urban hire simply because he is going to do wonders with Braxton Miller. That dude made our good defense look silly as a true freshman in a terrible system with a terrible O-coordinator. He will be very good in the spread style that Urban runs, no doubt about that.

That said, we will be very good too, and anyone who thinks OSU will beat us another 7 times in a row because of Urban needs to nut up. We'll get ours, so will they. Should be good for the rivalry.

I guess Mullen is an ok hire, seems like he's pretty unproven still though. Thought they would have better options than taking a seeming flyer on a relative newcomer

The bolded didn't show up Saturday though. They had a really nice game plan. If they would have run that offense the entire year with Braxton Miller, they would have won a lot more games.

Ok I will amend my statement. I think that how they utilized B Miller on Saturday was far from the most effective they could have (perhaps in large part because of the system and scheme they run), and Meyer will get him a lot closer to that optimal point. I think they had a nice aggressive gameplan, but Miller airing it out 50+ yards all the time is not great for his skill-set right now. Having him do zone reads with Boom and short slants and 5-yd outs with a spread field...that would have been much more deadly IMO.

That was always why I wasn't all that scared of Pryor...he clearly had superior physical skills, but was just utilized so poorly that he was effectively neutered. Don't think this will be the case with Miller under Meyer. Add that to the imrpovements he will make w more experience, and I think we will have our hands full the next few years.

Also goes without saying that you are 1000% correct that they would have won more games if they played Miller all season and utilized him similar to Saturday...
