Deezy, thank you for the shout out, but this isn't my moment - I'm just here to help out during the final push.

As you guys know damn well, I'm a diehard of quite a few teams (one in particular) that have hit the depths of despair, with seemingly no visible light at the end of the tunnel. For the diehards here who've been waiting for this day for what seems like eternity, enjoy this night. This moment is yours.

I'd say congratulations...but there's one step left.

See you boys on Monday.

Are these statements wrong?:

1) Matchup wise Syracuse was the toughest team we could face in the tournament. (Maybe tOSU or MSU would be worse for us?)

2) Matchup wise Michigan is toughest team Louisville could face in the tournament. (I feel more confident in this statement)

This is the video they've been playing on the scoreboard before the team enters the court. About ****ing time they've added it to youtube. Let's add some more to that tradition.

OSU would have been the toughest matchup.

The worst matchup for Louisville is a team that can't turn it over but also controls pace. Which we have an inability to do.

Goddamnit. I don't even know what "controls space" means.

Awesome video.

Bingo.

Also, you have Siva who turns the ball over a ton because he's a terrible decision maker. Smith can be that way at times. We do a good job at getting into passing lanes and coming up with steals against back courts like that.

Dieng is a concern, but after seeing McGary outplay Withey, I'm much less concerned than I would be otherwise.

At the start of the year when I saw Louisville play, I thought we would have no chance against them if we met in the tournament. Now, I honestly think we should be favored on Monday.

I think Kansas and osu were marginally worse matchups than cuse. We did a good job of letting fair get his but limiting their ability to shoot from outside. Our rebounding was the difference in the first half and that kinda disappeared in the 2nd.

I have to be honest I just don't see Louisville having matchup problems for us. They don't really have a guy who can take the ball inside and make Glenn uncomfortable like young did for Kansas. Their press isn't nearly as ferocious as Syracuse and I think we can take care of the ball.

The one thing Louisville did well against wsu that we can't let them do is offensive rebound. We need to be diligent about boxing out and limit their points off of put back opportunities.

And **** no I'm not gonna hedge. We came this far I can't back out now especially having to lay odds on Louisville.

The one worry I have is we'll get sped up. I think it's in our favor to play a game under, say 65 possessions. But if you look at our games, we've been all over the place, (72 against Kansas, 60 Cuse, 53 vs. NW) which tells me that we can't control that as well as I'd like. Louisville you saw them play at a slow pace in the first half (saving that press), and then when they wanted to speed WSU up, they were able to do so. I think the matchups skill-wise and athletically are in our favor. If it's over 65, Louisville wins, under it, we win.

That's one way of looking at it. To me, it shows that we're able to adapt to our opponent's pace (and still be successful). I think perhaps the most relevant data point is VCU. In that game, I was super impressed with how we controlled exactly how the pace went. We beat the press and did whatever we wanted afterwards. We played extremely under control in the mini fast breaks that resulted from breaking the press. Burke was the key to that. If he can play within himself, I'm very confident in us playing at the pace that we want to be at.

I just don't see Louisville implementing their press very often. I would think for sure one tape Pitino is going to watch first is going to be the VCU game and he is not gonna like what he sees. Burke and co. are gonna eat you alive in transition if you try to press. We are too athletic and will create too many odd man breaks leading to easy buckets.
