Rossum was decent. Not pro-bowl caliber, but reliable.

Does any team dominate games and almost lose as much as the Packers?

If Tramon is hurt and Bush has to start, someone needs to make a Cutlahhhh type MSPaint for him.

btw, Nelson 8 targets, JJones 1. I made my thoughts on this known in post #1385, but what do you guys think? Trend (that stems back to the playoffs) or aberration?

Already starting with the injuries. Ugh, Jarrett Bush: NFL starter.

WOW!!! What a game.

Cobb Is he the #3 receiver already? His receiving TD was sweet, and his record-tying kickoff return was SICK!!! James Jones was total non-factor. I (for one) like Jones, but why sign him if he's just on the sideline? Jennings was awesome! First TD sooo perfect. Nelson and Driver solid as well.

Starks > Grant ('nuff said). No Green?

O-Line OK. Still too many sacks. Lang with two false starts. Not great. Looked much better on run plays though.

Rodgers GOAT, ldo.

D-Line was more impressive than expected. Raji looking very good, and Wynn made some big plays. Neal out... big surprise.

Secondary actually looked pretty bad. Was surprised. Hope Tramon is OK, but he did miss a coverage for Saints TD early. Bush actually looked OK... made a sack and broke up a pass on his first play taking over for Williams. Still don't want to see him though. Bring on Gordy? Oh, and Woodson gonna get some mail from Goodell this week.

Also, Slocum still sucks. We gave up another run back, and Cobb's runback was all Cobb... not a good blocking scheme.

Ah wells, we are 1-0 and beat what appears to be a very good Saints team. Might be the only NFC North team with a 'W' this week.

Offense was excellent except on that 3rd and 4 to end the game. I thought they'd spread it out a little bit and let Rodgers hit one of the WRs or Finley. Play action to Kuhn? Bad call.
Agree on PI. Hawk CLEARS the receiver and contacts the ball. After he hits the ball, who cares wtf he lands on??? Also thought Bush had downed the ball on the 1 earlier. Two shaky anti-Pack calls at the end.

3rd and 4 was meh, but I think the play broke down and they just went to the checkdown. GB really needs to convert there like always.

As I mentioned above, I was surprised. Jones was invisible in preseason as well. I think he has a high ceiling, but he looks like #5 right now. Don't know why we resigned him if that was the plan.

Also, after tonight, Driver = Lofton at 9,656. One more yard to go.

There's just no spot for JJones right now. Cobb is too good to keep on the sidelines.

Finley's back shoulder catch in the first half was absurd. Shields got beat on the same play versus Henderson that Wallace beat him on in the SB.

Either Woodson is rubbing off on everyone or there's more of an emphasis on stripping the ball. Even Shields was going for the strip.

Starks>>>Grant ldo

Agree with this. As I said earlier ITT, I'm just mystified that they even resigned JJones, even more so if it means they don't resign Jordy.

Based on just this one game, it appears:

Jennings > Nelson >> Driver > Cobb >>> Jones

I agree, why sign Jones if that's the plan? I expected:

Jennings > Jones > Nelson = Driver > Cobb

In that case, a 3-yr deal makes sense. Nelson's contract is up this year. Of course, Driver is getting up there. I think one of those two will be gone shortly.

cobb seems really smart. there was some jsonline piece about him that had a story where he couldn't get a playbook during the lockout so he called up some UK coaches, got some packer film and reverse engineered the playbook himself. he also said after the game he made a mistake bringing the ball out on his TD. non results oriented thinking WR wtf

This would not surprise me as he insta-kneeled on the next kickoff from almost the same spot. I think a coach or two pulled him aside and said "Nice play, now don't ever do that again."

minnesota paper:

Quote:
At the end of the second round of the 2011 draft, though, Randall Ladonald Cobb II remained on the board, and the Packers, like a rich man craving a champagne cooler for his Bentley, spoiled themselves.
....
If the NFL really cares about parity, the league should lock Packers GM Ted Thompson in a closet during the draft. He already had the best young roster in the NFL, and Cobb made his champion teammates, not to mention the Saints' defenders, look a step slow.

God McCarthy's end of game management is so ****ing tilting. You got to go for it on fourth down there! lol punting.

But that probably wasn't as bad as NO not going for 2 when they score their first touchdown. Just inexcusable.
Green Bay Packers - Fired McCarthey Quote

yeah that was pretty bad. the saints should want to learn if it's going to take 2 or 3 scores to avoid a loss as soon as possible

i think coaches are just degenerates that want to maximize their sweat. not much sweat left if you miss the conversion and know u need two onside kicks in two minutes

Depends on how much guaranteed money Jones got. My expectations matched yours though.

I pretty much agree with this. McCarthy has a habit of letting games get closer than they should be. Drew Brees is probably the best QB the Packers will face this year in the regular season. Brees was really good last night. I didn't think the pass interference call on Hawk at the end was a good one.

Tramon Williams had a shoulder injury and more info on it's severity should be available today.

Can't really say anything about JJones yet, he was hardly targeted, but I agree Cobb looks like a stud. Apparently he is the first NFL player to be born in the 90's.

I realize I'm going to sound like a total homer but if no one could stop Driver/Jennings/Nelson/Jones what chance do they have with Finley and now Cobb??? Who do you cover?

I'm definitely starting to see why Rodgers spoke so highly of the guy. This is going to be an awesome season.

its standard to go for the extra point, not sure why youd go for 2. explain?

But he was hardly on the field either, which I think is telling. All the 3 WR + Finely sets featured Nelson over Jones. Actually, I'm fairly certain Cobb took more snaps than JJones last night as well.

Also, just read this on Rotoworld:

Quote:
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel suggests James Jones could be "on the trade block fairly soon."

Tramons wife posted on twitterthat he's alright, but take that with a grain of salt.

Also - AJ hawk bad ? Dudes held down the defense for the past 2 years and was huge last year.
