Yep, it's him. Much worse is Rod Allen though.

There is not a single coverage where Rod Allen isn't saying
- that Castellanos has improved at 3rd
- that an african american player made a great play and/or is a model of integrity
- that Avila and his wife(!) are great people
- that Ilitch is a great owner

On top of that I can't remember when he has pointed out a single mistake. Same goes for Mario. They both sugarcoat everything.

I am certainly not a fan of Castellanos, but why do they give him a day off after going 4/4 with the flame-throwing fatass Sabathia on the mound? Guys like that are exactly what you need to build up your average for the season, so this doesn't make sense to me.

Anyways, with these temperatures and Pelfrey starting followed by the fan favorite Buck Farmer and Kensing people should get a discount on their tickets.

2020 has a vesting option. If top five in cy young voting

I really hope that triggers.

This will probably be the worst deal in baseball history (well after Ryan Howard)

JV is just a mediocre pitcher these days. One has to give the Pirates credit though, because they hit everything right on the nose. The game showed what happens when bad pitching meets good hitting.

The problem with JV's contract, as with Ryan Howard's or A-Rod's for that matter, is that lots of superstars juice up to get such contracts and then go clean, because they don't want to risk getting banned and losing everything. For an organization it is very risky to sign veteran superstars to long-term contracts these days.

The problem that I have with such models can be seen in this very game today.

How does the model predict that Castellanos can't make the throw across the diamond to finish the inning, that Sanchez gives up a 2-run homer a few pitches later and that Clint Hurdle will watch the Lobster giving us 3 runs back?

In a game like this you are betting on two starting pitchers who have already left the game a few innings ago, but it's still going.
