This madness with BJ leading off simply has to stop. 0-4, 2 K, 1 pop-out. I'm too lazy to figure this out on fangraphs but what % of his AB's end in a K or a pop-out?

Eh, I'm okay with not using Kimbrel. As the visiting team on the road, ideally you'd take the lead in the top of the inning, then warm up and use the closer in the bottom of the inning to seal the win. I get using your best pitchers in your highest leverage innings, and it may be correct; I'm just saying I understand why Fredi didn't turn to him.

What I don't fully understand is The Neighborhood Play. I don't get what's allowed, what's challenge-able, and what isn't. But I think we can agree that whatever the rules, the play and the call went against us in the game tonight.

BJ Upton this year, 30.0 K%, 12.8% infield fly ball. Unbelievable to have that batted ball profile leading off.

And that's an improvement from last year, when he had a 33.9 K% and 19.3% infield fly ball.
