Apparently, Chip Caray is just as silly as you are. Giants were beating Nats by 4 in 6th, and then Nats tied it up. Chip says "Bad news in Washington, as the Nats have now tied up the Giants".

No. Coming into today, we are 7 back of the Nats with 32 games left. You know how extraordinary we would have to run to catch them? Meanwhile, we come in 1 game back of the Giants for the WC. Even given how much better it is now to win Division over WC, it's way more helpful for us if the Nats beat the Giants.

That silence is everyone agreeing with me TJ. You may be a "nicer" guy than me but rooting for Giants there is inexcusable. You are banned for a week from the thread. The baseball gods take things like that into consideration.

I was just rooting for Washington to lose in a general sense, they were on a huge tear by then. I agree at this point we should be rooting for the Wild Card, I didn't realize then that the Nats were playing the Giants.

I realize it doesn't look good now, but I haven't given up yet for the division. The Cardinals a few years ago looked like a perfectly mediocre team by the All Star break, then went on a tear to get into the playoffs. Same with the Rockies. And who could forget the Mets' epic September collapse.
