I know this is old news to all of you, but holy ****....Gattis is a freaking monster. The dude is huge. Heyward as well. I see their height/weight on TV all the time, but seeing those guys up close for the first time was something else.

My 8 & 9 year old daughters wanted to try for Braves autographs this time out. No luck :-(

Dude, Heyward is legit beastly in person. Even in his rookie season when he was skinnier I was like woah when I saw him at the games. He just does not look that big on TV.

Gattis is el oso blanco personified for sure.

Everytime I think about Heyward's rookie season I go back and look at the replay of his first AB HR. And I look at that swing and cry a little on the inside.

Yeah man, it was stupid. Probably frustration over losing. I didnt see any intent on the batters part to hurt Laird. It was just one of those things that happen. I bet the Braves were shocked too because nobody left the dugout and Gattis didnt react to the retaliation(which was too high).

Yea, the way the Braves reacted was telling, I think. Gattis taking it like he did just makes me love the bear even more. It was a bit high, though, I agree. Any higher and things could have gotten more interesting.

I like LaStella at leadoff and Heyward 2nd JUp third and Freddie cleanup followed by Gattis BJ CJ and Simmons.

Do the Braves really plan to keep Uggla on the active roster? He isn't even a defensive replacement, there is no need for him, the money is dead anyway.

According to Freddie G, he doesn't want on base singles only super hitting machine La Stella batting 2nd because .207 .280 BJ is right handed. Moron.

So I guess we'll keep having bases empty in front of Freeman/Upton/Gattis and whenever La Stella comes to bat you'll have Simmons or the pitcher driving him in.

rumor is that bethancourt could be getting a callup soon, pushing gattis to LF and BJ to the bench.

defensively probably a wash since gattis will be a disaster in the OF but bethancourt should hopefully make up for it.

do you guys think bethancourt is ready with the bat? my sense is that he's probably a year away but i only follow him because he's been on my fantasy team for a few years; havent actually watched him.
