mclouth made 2 terrible terrible plays. we never deserve to win another game that he is in the lineup for. I can field better than him.

Division title pretty much out of reach, gg Phils. Focus on the WC and play with WIM.

Yeah, since we're focusing on the WC, we really want to go out there and win the rest of our games.

After this series, I am pretty sure the Phillies would be scared shtless if they end up playing us in the NLCS.

Long way to get that point, but if we can squeak in the playoffs I really like our chances of winning the NL pennant (dead serious).

I don't think I follow. We're still pretty heavily favored to win the WC--my post earlier today still applies, and SF losing today means we'll still lead the WC no matter what else happens. We'd have to play somewhat pisspoor not to make the postseason.

Once we get there, I'd be scared ****less of the Phillies.

Disclosure: Phils fan....live 30 mins outside Philly

I'm not scared s-less of ANYBODY...even the NYY.

I mean, I'll be nervous in each and every playoff series we play and the Braves can beat us....even though they SUCK on the road and we have 3 bulldogs going in 6 of the 7 (or all 7 games).....but we ARE the clear Fav.

I respect the Braves....but you can't really believe this. You can believe the Braves can win....but not to the extent that the team and fans are "scared s-less"

I mean we lost 3 close road games with our 9th, 6th, and 3rd starter. I was legit worried we wouldn't have kept a game within 4 runs this series on the road and we went out and kept it close every game. We played abnormally horrible defense that cost us 2-3 runs this series. Forget running well/bad etc we are definitely able to keep it close against Philly. That's all you can ask for in the playoffs. Their offense didn't really impress me that much either. They hit Mike Minor, cool. Everyone hits Mike Minor. I didn't realize Ryan Howard was that terrible. I always saw his numbers and thought he was a legit stud. He can't hit lefties at all, and he strikes out a ton.

Sure, it's going to be tough to win games vs the Phillies in the playoffs when they are running Oswalt, Hamels, and Halladay out there, but I guarantee their biggest fear right now is playing us in the NLCS (don't think it's close, actually).

Listen I was a Braves fan throughout our 'run' when we were hands down the favorite in every playoff series we played in the NL. I know how it feels as a fan in that spot. You are still scared of certain opponents in certain situations. You can pull the "we are the favorite against anyone" card, but that doesn't mean that deep down you are at least a little bit worried of having to go through us in the NLCS.

Obviously, you guys are the boss of the NL, but we match real well against you in a 7 game series even if we only get 3 home games.

We still have a long way to go to play in the NLCS, but hopefully you get what I am trying to say.

When the stakes get high, the fear level rises. You guys will be rooting against us in the NLDS IF we make it. I absolutely guarantee it (not disputable and you all know it).

I am 32 years old so I know about the Braves run....

In my post I was clear that I respect the hell out of Atl...

But I just want to be clear that every team in MLB stops short of thinking we are scared S-less of anybody.

In a previous post I already said I'm rooting for SD to win the WC. That's not out of hate for ATL....it's out of respect. We will sweep SD and they get 4 runs in the 3 game series....their offense is TERRIBLE. That will be amplified vs Halladay/Hamels/Oswalt

We are kinda on the same page but I just didn't like your wording. BUT it's the ATL Braves thread....so it's cool.

I promise I'm not trolling....much respect

No it's cool. I was saying during the 'run' I was a fan. I know what's it like to be a fan of the favorite. I know what's it like to be worried about certain opponents in playoff series. You call it respect, and I agree. I took a lot of positive out of this series as a Braves fan (mainly after tonight, before not so much). You guys don't want to see us in the NLCS. Call it respect, fear, whatever...the point stands.

fair enough...fair enough.

....and you're right. i want SD to get the WC cause they'd be our first round opponent. We just swept them IN San Diego. Like I said, that's a sweep....or 3-1 series if SD gets an insane pitching performance.

GL to ATL in all games except vs us. For some reason I don't hate B Cox or the Braves like I do the Mets....but I'm trying my hardest. A play-off series will put me over the top, no question.

I'm outta your thread now....again, I respect your opinion.

If I was a Phils fan I wouldn't fear anyone either. They have the best team in the league by far that's peaking going into the playoffs and they have loads of experience.

If Lidge/the bullpen can keep it together they're pretty much unbeatable.

No way this is true. They are the current bosses of the NL, they are definitely peaking. But, I'd take the field over Philly to win the WS at even money in a heartbeat.

*I don't know why we are all getting on Philly's nuts here. It's not like the just raped us 3 straight. Again, we lost 3 close games on the road (what's the big deal?). Their offense didn't look that great compared to other top NL teams. The starting pitching was great, obviously, but Halladay looked tired and beat up (his results over the past month aren't stellar). We have hit Oswalt okay over the past few years (he looked amazing tonight, obviously), and Hamels is Hamels. Who knows what he'll bring come playoff time.

The worst part is they practically don't even need a bullpen. The pen pitched a grand total of five innings for them this series--three of them by Lidge.

Colorado losing again. Please, everybody, lose.
