I actually think Gronk was going higher than that because there was optimism last year he would play early, by week 2 or 3. And yeah, if he is out the first 8 weeks, you would just be wasting an early round pick on him if you took him in the 5th/6th. Most leagues have what, 13-14 regular season weeks before the playoffs start?

I'm not saying to take Gordon in the 5th or 6th but I doubt he'll last past the 8th at the latest. Someone is going to spaz early on him.

Totally, but I think with Gordon's history the risk is about the same.

I'm also not saying don't draft him, I'll probably grab him in a couple leagues, but if someone wants to spaz and take him in the 5th then let em imo

Anybody see that happening this year? My thought is they always say they are going to call it tighter and then they just let the star DB rape everybody anyway.
seems like it would be pretty negligible. perhaps goal line vultures get a slight boost as end zone pi could yield more plunges.

I literally had nightmares last night about spacing on drafts and having all my teams be autodrafted.

I need help.

so i got 11th pick in a ppr tonight. thinking i will grab julio and then either foster, leveon or murray. not sure which rb to take tho.

i figure dez will be gone.

i am avoiding green due to the coaching change unless someone can convince me. i loved him last yr but it just seems the other options are safer and have more upside.

at the 3/4 turn i am hoping to grab 2 wr like vjax, fitz, andre, roddy.

then at 5/6 i hope i can get 2 out of joique, jennings, gerhart, mathews, tate, ridley, sankey, gore, morris.

so 3 stud wr, a decent rb1 and 2 more decent starting rbs.

julio
foster
andre
fitz
tate
gore (or should i go sankey, or pierre?)

seems most likely but mebbe i get lucky and toby, joique or alfmo drops.

or grab whichever of those rbs i like best at 3/4 and hope to snag like kendall wright, floyd, crabtree, torrey in the next rounds.

julio
foster
andre
toby
kendall wright
gore (or sankey or pierre or gore)

which team do we prefer?

I prefer the 3rd team where you take Murray or Bell or Ball instead of Foster.

RB's go faster than you expect in 12 team drafts unlike all the 10 team YPL's you see posted here. I would prob take my 2nd RB on the 3/4 turn depending who is available. It's a long way back by the time 5/6 comes and u might be quite disappointed with what is left at RB, but there will always be decent WR's left.

Hue Jackson (Cincinnati's OC) was also the WR coach of the Bengals back in 2004-2006 when Chad "OhcoCinco" Johnson was at his best.

Point is, he's been with Marvin Lewis and this team before (including in various coaching roles the last 2 years), I think AJ will be fine.

5/6 wr will be kendall, crabtree, torrey, maclin sanders

so its the drop from fitz, andre, or vjax to those guys vs the drop from jennings, joique, mathews to tate, pierre, ridley.

say fitz goes 95/1300/8. kendall goes 90/1100/5. torrey goes 65/1200/8. like a 50 pt difference.

joique 700/50/450/9tds for 219pts. tate at 1k/25/200/7 for 187. so 32 pt difference.

I like team 1 and I will also be avoidning Pierre like the plague. Julio's foot scares me. Had him in like 3 of 4 leagues last year.

I might grab Marshall if you are avoiding AJ and Dez is gone.
Safer pick, IMO.

sure he will be fine. but all he has talked about is establishing. heres his splits as oc.

03 skins: 527 passes, 421 runs. a truly horrid team devoid of offensive talent.

07 falcons: 555 passes, 385 runs. another dumpster fire with harrington and old dunn.

10 raiders: 491 passes, 504 runs. jason campbell, dmac and bush.

do we really trust this guy to air it out enough to make green a better pick than dez, julio, marshall, antonio, jordy, or the 2nd tier rbs?

dalton threw it 586 times last yr and green went 98/1426/11. the yr before was virtually the same but dalton only threw it 529 times.

marshall has jeffery to take some targets but cutler just locks on him. dez just has no competition for targets. both scored nearly the same fantasy points as green the last few yrs. i guess i just view them as slightly more upside and safer due to their situations remaining the same.

ruh ro leveon bell

LeGarrette Blount rushed three times for 10 yards in Saturday's preseason opener against the Giants.
Le'Veon Bell started and got two carries on the first two snaps. Then the Steelers hit a big play to Dri Archer out of an empty set, and Blount came on for two consecutive red-zone carries. On the next series, Blount surprisingly got a third-down rep as well. In the end, he played seven first-string snaps and Bell played six. "I don't necessarily know how they're going to (split up playing time), but it will be something of that nature, I'm assuming," Blount said afterward. "Ain't nobody going to sign me to sit me."

theres another quote from blount predicting 50/50 split from a few weeks ago.

Well sure Blount is gonna say it's gonna be 50/50, but that doesn't really affect where bell is going adp wise imo

Oh well if the backup RB said it's going to be a 50/50 split....

Somebody tell Knile Davis to make the same comment so JC falls to me at 12. Thanks.

The AJ Green concern is way overblown
NFL Fantasy Football General Discussion 2014 Quote

i think its enough to push him behind dez, julio and marshall. thats all.

as for bell, every year there is a sure fire "bellcow" back that ends up splitting carries. usually there are clues like the coaching staff asserting that it will be so. last yr it was wilson and lamar miller. everyone had them penciled in as lead backs despite every quote.

other backs i remember would be steve slaton, cj spiller, jamaal charles, shonn greene.

so, you never know. and what blount says makes a lot of sense. hes a very good rb. bell really wasnt that great. no reason they wont split between the 20s and give bell gl and passes. thats enough to knock him off his adp imo.
