I read over the thread quickly - is it definitely set for snake drafts for all sports?

Looks like a good group in the league so I have no problem asking questions as we go.

it would be 1 draft for all 3 sports at once. not 3 separate drafts. a 3 sport auction was be the craziest thing ive ever heard of. not that a 70 round 3 sport draft isnt.

I will say this - dynasty leagues are extremely hard to maintain long-term. I would hope we have a good plan in place for finding replacement owners in the event owners decide to leave the league.

Because of how hard it is to keep dynasty leagues intact, I would prefer it to be a keeper league, where each team has the option of keeping a range of players (for example, a min of 6 and max of 10, etc.). That would give teams that suffer through bad luck, injuries or simply bad management on their own part to recover through the draft the following year.

Allowing a good amount of keepers but not making it a dynasty would strike a good balance between keeping the league competitive (and not losing owners who feel they have no shot to win anything long-term) and rewarding owners who have done a good job with their teams.

Oh ok, I missed this. Obviously that's a huge aspect of the league.

What are some of the reasons guys in the league prefer one monster draft to three separate drafts?

Because it is 3x more awesome.

Plus a lot of the strategy is in how to build 3 teams at the same time. Just like you can trade between sports, it makes you have to figure out value relative to other players in other sports

Is securing a 3rd awesome WR more important that getting a good 3B is baseball?

Draft took 1,5 month last time I think, so we should get this going quickly.

as much fun as these leagues are, id rather not rush this league unless it has a strong group of 12 guys.

the other league is almost done with its first season, so (and im hoping this isnt true) there might be openings there if anyone leaves, so interested parties could still hop in there.

I don't know of anyone leaving the other one

My only issue is with a snake for all 3 sports is that I think an earlier pick in the first round is disproportionately valuable.

I would probably on be on board if we do a true snake:

Round 1: 1-12
Round 2: 12-1
Round 3: 12-1
Round 4: 1-12
Round 5: 1-12
Round 6: 12-1
Round 7: 12-1
Round 8: 1-12

etc.

We actually did the 3rd round reverse in last league. It had mixed reviews

One thing we did was reverse the order for the 1st year rookie drafts to help the teams drafting later..

Perhaps we can compromise and do a 3RR but include rookie picks into the draft.

Note, not the players, just the rights to that pick
