FWIW, I initially proposed 50%, or preferably doing nothing. I don't see this as an affected team voting block that's trying to push its own interests. I just got the feeling that I was very much in the minority in my preference to do nothing (and that the do something preference was coming from unaffected as well as affected teams), and that voting B would be the most likely way to get this thing done. This is annoying, and it's dragging, and obviously we want to get back to this thing being fun.

i don't know fifield, but i don't get the impression that we need to be concerned for the future integrity of the league. I can see why he could think it was ok to do it - though i don't agree w/ him. I wasn't completely on everyones side until I looked at Carl Crawfords history, when it's jsut blatantly abusing a guy that clearly doesn't understand the system.
As for last night's discussion, which I missed, Exit sums up my feelings nicely.

Also, one more thing that will hopefully make the unaffected teams feel less aggrieved: whatever extra cap room I'm assigned, I commit to using none of it this year. So If I had spent $940, and after relief was knocked down $30 to $910, I would consider my effective cap to be $930 ($910 plus the $20 in room I initially had) rather than $960. Obviously I gain a little next year by being able to carry over slightly cheaper players, but I think that's fair.

I don't think that any other affected teams should be expected to do the same, that's their choice depending on how they feel about this. But that's my compromise for getting past this quickly AND getting less relief as some teams (myself included) would prefer.

So, in summary:

1) We get votes from Jokes and Thay3r by the end of the day, otherwise Karak settles it. A wins for question 2 (i.e. we don't punish Fifield), and B probably wins for question 1. I go through the records to assign relief amounts. Teams choose to use a proportion of that relief amount as they see fit. Between the 75% for older bumps and the voluntary concessions, the proportion of relief actually in effect ends up being far less than the total amount Exit initially tallied.

2) If C wins for question 1, that's okay, I'm sure we can work something out fairly quickly if we structure the debate properly. Karak has done plenty and is busy, so maybe Pecota and I could lead it, or Exit if he's got time?

3) Coff takes over on the terms that Karak stipulated and we're back in business.

I would not ask, nor would I expect any team to start taking measures of this sort as a way to "make teams feel less aggrieved." Unless it's an existing rule or a new measure that's passed by a vote, no team should be expected to commit to anything of this nature.

I actually like this idea as a resolution. Fix the salaries 100% but in the off season. Teams taken advantage off will get compensated in the offseason, and teams that drafted to have cap room, will still be the only teams with cap room.

That said, I really just want to get past this issue, and i'll be happy with whatever resolution that gets voted through. when catching up on the morning posts, I thought Karak was gonna Thundercat it up and quit.

I'm going to go with C and C, I don't really know what should be done though so if you need me to pick the majority I guess i can do that

Thunder had a co-owner that has first-dibbs on taking over Thunder's now abandoned team. Karak is gonna talk to him today, but if he doesn't want it - you can buy his team. Karak will keep you updated when he hears from this co-owner.

I neither asked nor expected any team to do the same. Totally voluntary, totally up to each team to decide how much of the salary relief they're being provided that they wish to avail themselves of. Voting B and doing this is simply my way of reconciling the fact that I want to move past this while still accommodating those teams (myself included) that would prefer <100% relief.
