I mean, credit to you for getting the deal done, but I'm upset with how unbalanced it is talent-wise. I'll just leave it at that, obviously my lawnmowers have reached orbit.

Its 3 expiring contracts and (1) 2 year player, for 4 rookie contacts a 1st and a 3rd. seems like the perfect deal for a rebuilding team to me. In fact if you look up your trade to sergz 2 years ago, id say it is similar, in fact sergz gave up less:

Sergz gets:
Miguel Cabrera
Felix Hernandez
Curtis Granderson
(Pecota covers 100% of salary for all three)

Pecota gets:
Kevin Gausman (from danvh)
Sergsz 1st rd pick (1.10)
Sergsz 2nd rd pick (2.09)
Sergsz 3rd rd pick (3.10)
(all picks for 2014)

Think we are in lighting round.

I pick Yoan Lopez, Gavin Cecchini, Josh Hader, Keury Mella, Rob Kaminsky and Erick Fedde. That gets me to 10

For what its worth, I think ND got off a little light (not sure if but two of those guys end up being mixed league worthy). I'm more of a quality over quantity guy usually, but sometimes you just gotta get bodies and hope someone works out.

But in terms of impact/imbalance to 2016 would it have mattered really had a few of Mazara/Buxton/Bregman/whatever been included? Not like any of them are materially going to help this year. Unfortunately this is the nature of the beast

Yeah, my earlier post was not a good look. I may disagree with the trade, but I should be more respectful.

TRADE ALERT:

I send to Alek:

Greg Bird
2017 3rd Rounder pick

Alek sends:
Eric Hosmer (he pays 2017 salary)
75$ 2016 cash

During past auctions if I remember correctly we have shortened the counter period to 24 hours, so I just want to make sure that's what the ruling is.

Found this from March 19th last year, during the draft, Exit made a deal.

Exit:

trade:

Fifield sends $125 for my 2016 1st, 2nd, 3rd picks.

was in the process of trying to set prices on guys to send to you guys dan/cota and fifield stepped up and made offer.

edit:

I'll give this 12ish hours (till i wake up tomorrow basically.. so maybe 14-15 hours).

It's obviously some sort of abbreviated period, just want to know how long.

12-24 seems reasonable.

closer to 12.

I think the informal rule we've used in the past has been around 24 hours as the "expedited" window. I'm not sure where the 12-hour thing came from either, we may have just taken a quick poll and people were indifferent.

I'm ok with 24 hours.

I dont mind as long as its less than 24 imo. That way someone could use their slot or money to bid on someone

well yeah thats the whole point. i think 24h is too long. 18h? thatd be 8:12am tomorrow.

Despite being one of the people considering trying to counter that, I think it's hard to not be consistent with these things. We should definitely vote on more concrete times for next year. But I think 12 hours is fine here.
