I never really understood why that is a rule. Don't want to change anything for 2016 obviously but seems like there is a better way

Totally agree. I'd like to vote on scrapping it from next off-season. I don't get why teams get free picks if they've traded away their whole farm and their picks.

That seems like the easiest approach really, just eliminating it all-together. I'd be open to a six round draft as a compromise to keep our minor league rosters relatively full but not a big deal either way.

Prince Fielder ($109 / 2) is very available. Don't think I'm cutting him but not very excited about keeping him. Would take any 2016 draft pick.

Also, I agree with scrapping the minor league floor and the lightening round picks after this season. It's been so long that I may actually be flip-flopping on that position, but I feel like the experiment has run its course and we don't really need that feature.

i tend to agree, it just breeds possible abuse that could be easily avoided.

maybe we could have a draft compensation type system similar to mlb to help teams recoup picks for their stars.

or we could just lessen the amount each team gets, not automatically back to 10.

many options to consider
