Hello. I've searched around but haven't found a post that addresses this, so apologies if this is a repeat or if it has been answered elsewhere. Also, if this is the wrong place then I'd appreciate the mods moving this to the right forum.

I've been exploring GTO+ and solvers in general, and see a lot of references to solutions for 3-bet pots. My question is how does the solver know it is a 3-bet pot? Or is it irrelevant from its perspective, and the solver is simply looking at it from a range perspective?

As an example, button opens, BB 3-bets and button calls. When setting up your solve are you inputting a BB 3-bet range, a button 3-bet calling range, and then allowing the BB to donk if they were the aggressor on the previous street, thereby setting up a 3-bet pot scenario without explicitly telling the solver that it was a 3-bet pot?

It understands it's a 3bet pot in the sense that it knows the ranges and the stack to pot ratio. For instance, it may know that the 3bettor has an Broadway advantage on a, let's say, AK4 flop and will strategize accordingly.

Basically there's nothing for the solver to "understand"

Thanks everyone. So essentially when people refer to analyses they’ve done for 3-bet pots they are doing so based on the presumed ranges at that time. Makes sense but wasn’t sure if there was a setting I was missing. Thanks for the clarification.
