Im thinking of getting this book to study a bit while in between classes. I'm just wondering how many of you have read it and is it worth my time. Obviously i'm not expecting to read it and be like omg i solved poker/try to apply it but in general i want to read it because i feel like it would help me understand the game more where i can therefore understand why im doing x in this spot given y my opp. tendencies a bit better after reading etc...

Sorry for the long paragraph but also im hearing that this book is mainly GTO based and im a little bit hazy on GTO stuff so maybe improve my weak points like learning about GTO properly?. Ik what balancing and stuff is but GTO is just a whole level of confusing to me and maybe this will explain it better? Also is this book primarily GTO or can i expect other goodies in it

Anyways just wanted thoughts and whether or not its worth the 50 bucks and whether i should spend a lot of my time studying/grind away at it.

If you're not an idiot, yes worth your time

If you're a genius, probably not.

Think I got the two extremes down good.

Depends what level you're already at. If you're already thinking a bit in terms of ranges, it's a great book, and you shouldn't be put off by the "GTO" stuff that gets bandied about. It's just a book about the theories behind playing ranges profitably, and you can kind of ignore some of the maths/equations, but still learn a lot from the hand history discussions.
You might find Ed Miller's "Poker's 1%" is a more readable introduction to some of the ideas if you find equations are off-putting.
See the threads in the books/publications forum.
