Yeah, I'm not sure why the 100K ticket promo went away, if Merge has to cover overlay anyway.

It would only make sense is if the rake from players normally playing at 10NL and 25NL, who dropped to 4NL to hit the 8000 hands, was lower on those promotion days.

I think the rake for 8000 at 4NL is ~$20. Thats probably only like 2000 hands at 25NL. Now , I guess if you assume that people do not drop in levels to clear this, then there is no argument to keep the promotion, but in reality most people do since it is very hard to get a hand/hr rate >1000 on merge.

The software on Merge is just too buggy and slow to allow some real multitabling (12+) and whether you like it or not, in order to get the ticket you have to sit at the computer for 8hrs+. Playing at your normal limit, for this long will usually do more harm than good, and at 4NL you can usually give your brain a rest and still produce a +bb/100 rate.

I saw the BI was $3500 for the championship, so the extra $2500 is cash to be used as pleased? Can this be sold and/or is there a cash option?

5th place on tourney leaderboard was 801 games, guess sng's are counted as "tourneys" which sucks for mtters.

sorry if u play cash, then i dont know

and also, is their a "tourney king" leaderboard that's updated anywhere? i cant seem to find it, link would be appreciated

You won't make it unless you play ridiculous amounts of hypers. Also not sure about the cash qualifiers.

I played 8k hands in 5.5 hours at nl4 18tabling 6m (with breaks), ended up ~$10 in rake.
I completely understand why they are disbanding that promo.

I hope they bring back the $11 satellite ticket promo next month.

I played 8k hands in 10 hours at nl4 16tabling FR, ended up ~$20 in rake. I also completely understand why they are disbanding that promo. But I think 5,000 hands for a $5 ticket is a bit too little of a reward for such a grind. I would prefer a completely different promo on Wednesdays if they cannot think of a better way to give a ticket without taking a bath on the promo. Maybe the type of ticket could depend on what stakes you played for the promo, idk.

maybe it was $11, not sure why i paid so much less, maybe I'm just a huge nit haha.

But yeah, $5 for 5k hands is ridiculous. It's not worth it for anyone to go for at any stake unless they just want a challenge.

Hyper should either not count, or count for less than a whole tournament.

Or maybe out of the 5 seats, 2 go to mtt players and 3 go to sng players, or vice versa or w/e

I am going to cash out my roll if they don't improve these promotions by the end of the month.

With how ridiculously reg infested and bad all of these games are, you need good promotions to get someone like me to keep playing on your site.

I'll give them til I see Augusts promotions, but if its anything like these, Im outta here.

Another thing about the $109 tickets:

Normally, the tournament is $100+$9, i.e. their profit is $9 per entry.

However, since there is currently a huge(!) overlay anyway, the tickets come at no extra cost to the site i.e. unless they change the guarantee(and they most likely won't) the cost is already incurred so whether they dispense these tickets to increase the player pool or not, does not change the actual cost.

If it is so, why dispense the tickets to one specific tournament? A major, none the less. With the current structure, only 20% get ITM, and the more they win, the higher the chance they will withdraw, especially if they won the money with the ticket (i.e. most of these players do not normally play such high buy-in tournaments).

Wouldn't it make more sense for the company to implement and grant T$ instead? Players would be able to:
a) convert them to cash and use them at different tables at like an 8:10 conversion rate thus lowering the cost for the company.
b) playing through a $100, at any limit, generates far more rake than $9, the fee for MTT entry. It also has a chance to disperse the money more evenly than the MTT structure allows i.e. the final 5 get the lion's share of the money.

c) players, whose br management does not allow playing such high buy in MTTs, could use the T$ for many smaller tournaments, with smaller prizes that would result in more tournaments played, and, due to the smaller prizes, make it less likely players will remove a lot of their tournament winnings from the site.

To summarize, Merge should definitely implement T$, it would be far more beneficial to them and the players than just granting tickets to high buy-in MTT.

Still see it in my admin too. However, it is no longer stickied in tourney lobby - at least not as of the time of this post.

It's listed in the Carbon lobby too. Weird that it isn't listed in RPM.

RPM Poker is no longer running the 100 seats to 100k Promotion, but we are still running the $100,000 Guaranteed Tournament. You can buy-in to that tournament directly for $109, or satellite in for as little as $2.

Fyi, it's still in the player admin with the counter showing when you've earned a seat.

Also, having the $500 heat wave freeroll cancelled tonight as it was loading is ridiculous. I structured my night around being here to start that tournament. All the info I can get from live support is that an email is sent by Seth, which I still haven't gotten now 15 minutes later.

The tournament was set to cancel if not every player was registered at the time of start. As 8/10 players were registered after all were properly notified, we attempted to get in touch with the two missing players and set the tournament to restart 20 minutes later. Those same 8 players re-registered, but two were still missing from the event.

The tournament is currently in progress and the two players that missed their chance at winning a prize in the heat can try again for a spot next week.

I just happened to walk by the computer and saw the tourny is running with me blinding out. When I asked livechat an hour ago why the original tourney was cancelled they told me it was being rescheduled for tomorrow and I would receive an email shortly.
I did re-register when the new tourny lobby appeared, thought it was a tourny starting tomorrow, saw what I was expecting to see I guess.

if the player admin still advertised the 100 seats to 100k tournament how can you just get rid of it, all im saying is if rpm no longer runs the freeroll then stop advertising it.
