Even the most basic understanding of the message of Christ should make the suggestion that God takes delight in separating people from Himself wholly reprehensible.

Surely delighting in someone's torment, and suggesting your God does the same, meets the Biblical definition of sin.

The old "why don't you be a Christian for a few years" argument isn't a particularly strong one, because many (if not most) of the atheists here actually come from Christian families. They have in many cases, like me, practiced Christianity for a decade or more before turning to atheism.

Have you ever heard of sarcasm? God uses sarcasm in the word to point out the foolishiness of unbelief and unbelievers. You all dont really know what love is obviously. Its not that sugar coated smail and agree and not make people angry fake Christianity you see on TV and is promoted in all the mainstream Chrsitian circles. Where they always have a smile on their face and dont wont to make any body mad. The true Word has guts and balls in it and offends even believers at times.

The point is that you believe it, and if you have any interest in convincing others of the sincerity of that belief (and it seems like you do), you would do well to behave like it.

Jesus saying offensive stuff doesn't give you a free pass. Also, FWIW, Jesus tended to be most sarcastic and scathing toward religious leaders who tried to bash people over the head with the law, and was generally quite compassionate toward "sinners." Hmmmm.

Let's play a game then - you go ahead and find passages where Jesus is a sarcastic jerk to a non-believer, then, for every passage you find, I'll find two where he suggests being kind, compassionate, loving, gentle, forgiving, humble, etc. We'll see who runs out first.
